I had my 1st shot about 2 weeks ago day after chemo and no one told me about Claritan. I had the most horrific pain in my knee/leg I could hardly walk. I have stage 4 lung cancer, so i thought the cancer spread. I was so scared. I called my doctors office and the nurse said it was from the Neulasta shot and told me about claritan. I was so relieved. I have my next chemo this coming monday so i will take the advise i am reading from you wonderful fellow cancer survivors and start taking monday since I will shot on Tues. I will let you know uf ut helps. Thank you all.

Jud~Same thing happened to me. I find that if I take it everyday just as a precaution , it helps with additional joint pains and aches that come along with the treatments we receive. I also noticed it helps me with my inflammation at any given day, I just told onc that I am taking it everyday. I also have a monthly shot now of XGeva. Helps tremendously!!! Hugs to you and sorry you had to find out the hard way! ~M ~

Judi - Be sure to take a Claritin a full 24 hours before the Neulasta shot. Then one that day and for 3-5 days afterwards. I only needed 3 days. Other ladies have sworn by a total of 6 or 7. And as Micmel says, unless your doc has a problem, you can add it to your regular routine. And remember - regular Claritin - NOT the "D".

I discovered the use of regular Claritin through this site following my first chemo infusion and Neulasta injection. What a difference! No more bone pain. I took it 5 days prior to neulasta and 3 days after.
