Oncotype DX score for women 65+?

Hi all,

My mother is 66 and recently had a lumpectomy for her IDC (dx early this month). Her tumor was about 1.3 cm, no lymph nodes, stage 1, grade 1, ER+/PR+/HER2-. She also had one DCIS and one LCIS removed. 

She just got her Oncotype DX score of 24. Her oncologist seemed to think she should definitely NOT have chemo with this score. Of course, we would like to avoid chemo if possible, but based on what I have read here I am surprised that with her score the doctor did not even consider chemo? I wonder if it is because of her age? Has anyone else had any experience with this? She has no heart or liver problems and is physically fit.

I would get a 2nd opinion.  That's just me..

I had oncotype score of 19 but am 59 and I didn't take chemo at recommendation of oncologist.
