I found out about Dr. Emens and her vaccine studies from a local friend but then also saw a post about her studies on a stage 4 forum. Many people are traveling from around the country to do her study in baltimore. It involves vaccines and teaching your body to control an destroy breast cancer cells. I wanted to start this forum as her studies are open to people now other than stage 4.

I will post more as I learn more.

Hi rayofsun,

Would you mind posting the major inclusion criteria such as time from diagnosis, stage, Her2 score, etc. so we can tell right off the bat if we qualify to be included.

Rayof sun .. Although I am her2 - I think that there is a great need for this post. When I talk to others who are positive ... I am in the dark ... I know it is more aggressive to be positive but that is it! Please dont leave us hanging. Thanks so much .... J

i am not actually clear on all the inclusion data. i do know it ws orginally for stage 4 people but now any stage with a high chance of reoccurance. you can search dr emens on youtube and there is some info. you can always call hopkins at 410 955 5000, ask for the sidney kimmel cancer center. as i learn more i will post.

Carcharm yes it looks to be the correct link. I had scans and blood work done monday and tuesday and was cleared wednesday to start the study. I had more blood work drawn on weds and 5 peptides placed. I return on friday to have the peptides read and get a skin biopsy. Then on monday I return for more treatment.

it has been a while since i have updated. i am well into the first cycle of four of the trial.i recieved my first set of vaccines about 1.5 weeks ago.  my branch involves people that were her2 positive and have a high risk of reoccurance. i found out you cant be off of herceptin for more than 6 months to qualify.
