Major Sinus Problem!!!
Hi,
Anyone have thoughts for this???
Came down with awful cold in Oct. was prescribed antiboioxtics, inhaler, steriods. It is now Jan. still have nose and cough problems! What the heck!! Never had allergies so I do not think its the problem. Have not had a Onc. Check-up since May, I am a little worried, since I had a 32 old friend die of Sinus Cancer. Should I be pushing for a Onc. appointment????
Thanks, B

nobelanna007 There has been a nasty bug going around sinus cough thing. I had it in November and I still get a cough and have "excess" mucous. When I went to my PCP he gave me advair a Zpak and I took Mucinex DM as I was getting ready for surgery and he said if he didn't give it to me I'd have a cough for weeks. A friend of mine had the big before me and she STILL has a bad cough..of course she took no meds. I would still consult your onc but it could just be that nasty bug!!
I hope it resolves itself soon and you have some relief.

If it's any consolation, I have had mine since Christmas! I am blowing my nose a lot and it has always been clear, but when I had my last "3 month" with onc, I mentioned it as I also have that nasty post nasal drip which causes a pleghmy cough too and she put me on Flornase which has done crappola. Then I caught a bad case of bronchitis in early January from my grand daughter (lives with me), and on top of the sinuses - felt pretty ugh. My primary care gave me Tessalon pearls (little glycerin cough pills) - it's an older med,but was highly recommended to me as being much better than Mucin-X and it was. I am still blowing my nose but my cough is getting much better. A lot of folks at work have it too and theirs is hanging on and they don't have cancer. My primary care said it can hang on for weeks. So I'm just going with the stubborn sinus thingy that's hanging on for awhile as I don't even want to think about any other possibilities!
Good luck!

I've been battling sinusitis since September. Went to the doctor, had a chest xray, blood oxygen test, full blood work, and...just sinusitis. She prescribed flonase, which has helped some. A nurse friend recommended using a neti pot, and that has helped more than anything. That and time.
From what I've read, sinus cancer is pretty rare and usually happens to people who smoke or are exposed to certain airborne industrial chemicals.
Good luck! I've had sinus issues all my life, and I know how miserable it can be.
