Stitching the pieces together

Wow! What an amazing quilt for a first one! You should be extremely proud of your work.......well done!!!!!!
-
Thanks everyone. This was my second for my intermediate class, not my first.
Jan, the applique was done with wisp-thin fusible web, but they had 9 tiny pieces and it was so hard to get them laid out & to stay put until they were ironed. Then they were not pre-stitched. They were free-motion quilted down. -
Oh excuse me! 2nd 1......still.....Holy Crap!!! Way impressive!
-
Simply Beautiful!

Mel it is FABULOUS darling!!!! I have finished my huge needlepoint and as soon as I can figure out how to flip me upright in the picture! Then I'll send it to Chrissy for download here.
-
I'll be waiting Barbe........lol.
-
Chrissy, I sent the pic a couple of days ago, to both your emails just in case.
-
I'm waiting too!
-
Yes, Me too!
-
Oh! I didn't see them Barbe but I will go check again.
-
Yup, it there, here we go......from Barbe.
I'm kind of just stretching and shaping it at this point before I do a final staple, but I'm really pleased at how well it turned out. The upper right piece (the viewer's upper right) is from a different gauge of netting!!! I couldn't find enough to complete the whole window with the larger gauge. It made it very difficult to size, though I'm sure stained glass isn't perfect either, eh Deb?? (see, we Canadians DO say "eh"!!) This should give you a great idea of the scale of the piece.
So, project complete and I'm at loose ends with my hands....I need another hand project desperately!!!! -
Barbe that looks amazing as do you! I wish we were closer and I had somewhere to put it .......gorgeous work!
-
Beautiful!!!!!!
-
OMG That is a beautiful piece of art work! Can't imagine the hours spent on it. I can relate to your hands don't know what to do now. Wish you could come to my house......I have all kinds of projects lined up, just need a little nudge to get them going. Jan
-
barbe - that is breathtakingly beautiful. And huge! I can imagine from doing needlepoint how many hours you spent making this. Your design and colour choice entices me to want to buy it. You had mentioned selling it and I don't see where you will have a problem. You are the artist and artists always look for flaws in their work but what I see is perfect! And no, every stained glass window or lamp I do is not as perfect as I would like. Wish I could post some of my work here and join in but my computer won't let me. I can send emails with pictures attached but even my son couldn't figure out how to get the pictures on here. What's the trick Chrissy?
-
Justagirl, feel free to email them to me and I can put them up for you. The biggest trick is to upload the pics to one of the online web albums or even FB. That way they are already on the net and just need to be copied to BCO.
If you want my email address just let me know.
-
chrissy - I have some on FB and tried to go from there to here but failed. My son says I am computer illiterate and I agree. If you would be so kind as to PM me your email address I would appreciate if you could post a couple of my pieces.
-
Justagirl, go to your face book and open the photo in the slideshow screen. Right click on the photo and a menu will appear. Click on "Copy image URL" then come to the thread and in the Reply box (where you type your post) click on the little green tree icon. A dialog box will come up, click CTRL V in the first box. This will paste the URL into that box. You can tab through the other boxes and the sizes should auto fill. Then click insert. Picture should show up in your post and you can write comments then click submit.
-
Barbe, your needlework is amazing! I could see a room divider made that way as well. I know you are going to come up with another great "next" project and I cannot wait to see what you decide on.
-
Wow Barbe - BEAUTIFUL. I feel like We're part of an on-line "Artist's Colony" Inspiring!
-
Very beautiful Barbe. I admire women who have the patience to finish projects that big too.
-
thank you Meece. will cut and copy your instructions and try my best as soon as I get a chance!
-
Deb, I have seen your work, I wonder if if was on FB. I've not been able to copy from FB over the past years, but by what Meece says, it seems to now allow you to copy the URL. That is what you need. I just paste the URL in and submit. Let's see if I can get it to work here:
hmmmm, Meece, what's a "slide show screen"?????
Thanks for the accolades, ladies. I am the most impatient person I know, but I also can't just sit in front of a TV and it was a very gray winter and spring!!! I worked on it in the evenings when my DH and I sat together having tea after dinner.
-
WOW!!! That left a little box that can open on a new page and shows the picture I was trying to post. How weird is that??? If you right click on the box above, it will show you what I was trying to do. Tell me where the "slide show" option was....
-
It didn't open for me. Said I wasn't authorized.
-
Barbe, if it helps, I can tell you that the URL you picked up from Facebook is way too long to be the right one. Looking at other posts that have successfully used pictures from FB, the URL will start with "https://fbcdn-sphotos-" (without the quotes) and end with a long string of numbers, and then .jpg (if your pic was in .jpg format).
Another thing to check, is that the picture you've selected is viewable by everyone - if it's not, that can lead to those messages about needing to be authorized.
-
Aha!! I just right-clicked on a picture, but it seemed to have selected the whole page!
-
barbe and Meece - I tried, I really did, and barbe - some of my pieces are on my FB page, but my trouble started after I did the right click onto the photo and menu and there was no copy image URL - my son says my program won't let me but he will be home this weekend I hope, after exams at uni, and maybe he can show me.
Plus, I took Chrissy up on her kind offer and emailed her one photo.
Oh sometimes I think this BC stuff is in my brain!....it must be the Tamoxifen!
-
Debbie, I'm in the city at the moment and I only have my iPad but I will be home tonight so shall post it for you then no probs.
Love n hugs. Chrissy -
chrissy - no rush and a big thank you! Country girl goes to the big city?
