...WITHOUT having to:

eat stuff I don't like, eat stuff I've never heard of before, having to buy "special" food, drinks or supplements, and without having to learn to cook all over again!

So 25 pounds down, 5 more to go.  :-)

Enjoy! :-)

Definitely true, Olivia, and not only did I lose the 30 pounds I originally set out to lose (I posted this thread early, when I hit the 25 pounds down mark because I was so excited), but in the end I got 5 more bonus pounds off too while learning how to regulate maintenance eating -- so the grand total weight I lost is 35 pounds. I'm 5'5 and small boned, so anything between 115 and 125 in the healthy weight range for someone my size and build. LOL. I weighed 155 when I started (the last week of May 2010), and as of this month (June 2011) I'm holding steady at 120 pounds. Maintenance wasn't too hard to get the hang of and now I've finally got it to the point where I'm able to eat more than I ate while dieting, but NOT back up to the level which made me need the diet in the first place!  I made it down to my original goal weight of 125 in mid-March 2011, but was slightly overestimating portion sizes when I first stopped actively counting calories/planning all my meals in advance. So I put a couple pounds back on by the end of March.  My response was to count calories and plan meals for a few days, which made me able to adjust unplanned estimates downwards in April; I took off the March pounds plus a couple more and I held steady at a nice 122 for May.  Shortly after my BMX on May 20th I lost another two pounds, which brought me down to an even nicer 120, which I like as much now as I did when I was 19, so I've decided to keep it.  :-)

I think learning to maintain wasn't too hard, and now actually maintaining a weight I like is easy for me because of the fact that I was able to use the plan I linked to in my original post to design a personalized diet for MY tastes and MY body (so you and anyone else could use it as a base to do it for YOUR tastes and YOUR bodies, and I know there's plenty of ladies here who say they would like to lose weight). I ate all the same foods I always ate while on the weight loss diet: I just ate LESS of it, as in fewer calories/smaller portions. Since I never deprived myself of any type of food I like on the diet, I don't feel any need to "reward" myself with excess food (or more "treats"), and I'm also free of the notion that now I'm able to resume overeating since my diet succeeded (yet simultaneously, somehow, manage to STAY slim).
