I did not have to take Tamoxifen but I had horrible hot flashes.I had to avoid caffeine(my main intake was from chocolate) and exercise really helped.

I've only been on the Tamoxifen for two weeks but see a difference. I have many hot flashes, and slight aches in hip area. I do exercise a few times a week. I'm waiting to see how it is a month from now because I read a lot about it taking a month to settle into the system. Hopefully.....Smile

Ugh....I don't start it for a while and I am dreading it.  Avoid chocolate?  Really? That would be a huge bummer on top of the fact that I have breast cancer (ha ha!).  They take away the boobs and now they want you to avoid caffiene too and potentially chocolate?  This disease really does stink hu?   How's a girl suppose to get through this without chocolate?   :)

I was getting 15+ flashes per day & not getting much sleep at night.  I found a good study about gabapentin, 900 mg per day & started it with the blessing of my Dr, about 6 weeks ago.  It's like night & day, no more chills, maybe a couple of flashes if I'm in a hot environment, I'm getting sleep & no more low level headaches.  I have another 4 years of T & I can't imagine doing it without gabapentin, caffiene & especially chocolate!  Laughing
