Stage IIa, ER/PR -, HER2+, Grade 2, LN+ anyone else?.
I'm under 30 and was wondering what other patients my age or with my diagnosis did for treatment after lumpectomy.

medinorth - So sorry you have to be here - I'm not your age and was LN-, but I just wanted to reply and let you know that you have a whole sisterhood here to support you. I can't predict what your oncologist will do for you, but I'm sure that the treatment will be aggressive.
After two lumpectomies, I had a unilateral mastectomy since I also had DCIS - then six treatments of taxol/carboplatin/herceptin, then Herceptin every 3 weeks for the rest of the year. Currently I'm in a clinical trial of Neratinib, a new drug for Her2+.
Whatever treatment you get, I'm sure Herceptin will be a part of it. It's truly a revolutionary treatment since it's a targeted therapy, not chemo.
Wishing you ALL the best - Sue

Hi Medinorth - I have the same diagnosis as you (except I'm stage IIb, grade 3) and was 31 when diagnosed. One of my lymph nodes was infected (out of the 11 that were removed). The treatment I had after my lumpectomy was 3 rounds of FEC and 3 rounds of Taxotere followed by 6 weeks of radiation and 1 year of herceptin. I've got 1 more week of radiation and 11 months of herceptin to go. If you have any questions about this treatment, please let me know. I felt really alone while going through chemo as I didn't come across anyone my age (and you're younger than me). Just know, you're not in this alone... there's lots of people here that are more than willing to support you and answer any questions you may have to make your journey a bit easier.
