mammogram after BC

Hi,

Not sure where I should post this. I had BC in year 2009 , stage 1 ,lumpectomy, 25xrads.

Did a test in Jan 2010 and thank my lucky stars all was clear. Now its 2011. Just wandering how often should i do my mammo? Yearly ? or 2 years once?

I get one on the breast I have left every 6 months.

I am new to this since October 2010, but I was told by my breast surgeon that I would see her and have mammo/ultrasound every 6 months for the first two years, then once per year.

Seems like each dr is different in their thinking and it probably will depend on your situation.  My onc says once a year is all that is necessary for me unless something is found.  I am comfortable with his decision.  As it turns out for me, my next mammo will be done 7 months after treatment.  The timing is just lucky.
