Well my left breast inflammation is better but not gone. Started 2 weeks ago went on Keflex and saw improvement. I went to a BS yesterday who thought it was just a bad infection with an absess and wanted to do surgery next week. He wanted me to have ultrasound and mammo so I scheduled today in my hometown. I just got back. When doing the mammo the tech left the room to look at film. She came back after several minutes and said the Doctor over radiology wanted more filmes of my right breast. I thought no the left one is the problem. She took more films then sent me to ultrasound. After the girl was done she said I am going to talk to the doctor of radiology and I will be right back. She returned with the doctor. He said my left breast had suspicious area but that there was NO abscess and wanted me to take another round of antibiotics then retest in a month. He said however your right breast shows 3 places of calcification that I think looks cancerous. We need to do a biopsy. He is going to call my BS who is in another town to schedule. He said they can do this test where my breast goes through a whole and shoots needles all around. I do not remember the name as I was numb by this time. I am still worried about my left breast scared it is IBC. Is it possible to have IBC in one and DCIS in the other? I just want to scream at the doctors to test it anyway not wait a month. He did say the places on my right was very small and he thought it was in the very early stages.

Yes it is possible to have both. If you are not happy with the way things are going. Tell your dr. you want a biopsy done on both breasts. Insist on it. Usually if you push enough they will give in and do it. IBC is nothing to mess around with. the longer you wait, the worse it is. The faster you get treatment the better chance for survival. I know, am in a trial right now to prolong the time between recurrences. Good luck and let us know what you find out.   Leisa

I agree,  insist on biopsys on both.  I also have idc & ibc in the same breast.  I had a 3.5cm tumor in the ibc breast as well.
