Thanks for the commiserations girls - work will be fine, I'll just behave myself - put my head down and not speak up when I see them wasting time trying to reinvent the wheel all the time.

My hip feels better this morning - slept with a pillow between my legs.

Just realised the alarm didn't go off for Steve to go to golf. Just rushed in to wake him and he said he changed his mind and turned it off last night - that gave me an extra hour sleep - hooray.

    Hi Everybody!

Got the chores done and the errands finished.  Geez ... it's cold and windy out.  I'm not going to walk the dogs in this wind.  Poor Tank, he's so sad.

Have you gals seen the new thread about the Planned Parenthood investigation in the Advocacy section?  Faye posted an article that is interesting reading.  I am a little suspect of the Alliance Defense Fund that wrote the report.  If you guys get the chance, check it out.

Hope everyone is having a good day,

    Bren

I'll be in New Orleans in August.  Yay?  Not sure how a swamp feels in August, but I'll find out!

    Edited to correct grammar.  Yeesh.

Bren, thanks for the heads-up on the PP investigation.  I couldn't get past the first page - it's so biased it ruins the whole thing for me.

Hi Scoot .. I got to page 15 and realized it was all the same and stopped reading at that point, and decided the check out the Alliance Defense Fund instead.  Now that was some interesting, and scary, reading.

I'm going to San Diego this coming Friday to see my grands ... can't wait, as I haven't seen them in 10 months.  I bet they've grown like little weeds!

How come you're going to NO in August?  Why not next month for Mardi Gras?

    hugs,

    Bren

Sounds like a great and timely visit, Bren!  Get away from this windy snowy stuff.

Friends are traveling to NO in August and they invited me to come along.  They're amazing people - whenever I visit Florida they take me in.  :-)

I don't know anything about the Alliance Defense Fund.  I wrote audit reports for a living and always sought to present findings in a clear, concise, and unbiased manner.  That report was an affront to the reader.

    Jeez.

Nowhere else to put it?  And to keep the anti-PP rhetoric alive?  Just a guess.

    Edited to clarify.

    There you go!

So how about this to get myself clear: Where does an OP with a link to a report criticizing Planned Parenthood's spending belong?

Answer:  NOT on a breast cancer board, let alone on the "Advocacy" forum! Unless someone just cannot let go of the abortion debate, to the extent that they want to disguise it as something else.

In fact, aren't they supposed to come here - lol! (Yikes - just joking!)

Wow, sorry to hear about Whitney but not surprised, sadly.

Athena, you are right about the stress. Problem is, 60 years old is the kiss of death for a new job. However, that being said, I am heading to a conference next month (14K attendees) and I am presenting two sessions which is a very big honor. So I will be front and center with people I know from my job for the past 20+ years. Maybe this could be a good thing. And of course I am stressing about that. But in a good way, I think. I am used to public speaking as I do webinars for our customers several times a year as well as customer events. But 14K? Well my session will only hold around 100 so I will be fine,

So what is everyone doing *right now*

I am having such a lazy weekend that I feel guilty. Maybe it's exhaustion from events of recent weeks. This minute: Reading BCO and watching lions hunt buffalo on Nat Geo "Wild."

Bren, hope you are having a nice trip. E - I envy you your travel. Blue? Anyone else?

    Morning Athena!

Tim left very early this morning for Georgia, so I slept late.  It felt so wonderful.

I don't have any plans for today ... just going to hang out and try to stay warm.  It's so cold today, but the sun is out.  At least it's not snowing.

The wound on my back is still hurting me quite a bit.  I saw it for the first time last night and it's about the size of a quarter .. a big hole in a bad location.  Wearing a bra irritates it and I can't reach it myself to put a bandaid on it.  wahhh ... I'm such a whiner!

Hope everyone has a good day!

    hugs,

    Bren

    Ouch Bren!

It is only going up to 54 today and although Marty's band is playing today, no way am I freezing my patooty off all day long. Reading a book with the heat on.

I'm getting ready to go to church *right now*, Athena.

Jello shots were a hit, EXCEPT grape ones were horrible. Reminded everyone of Dimetapp cold medicine. The Mardi Gras color scheme(yellow, green, and purple) was greatly appreciated though.

Looking forward to a lazy afternoon and nap after church.

Moderators closed the thread on the Advocacy Forum referred to earlier.  The OP has been posting numerous articles attacking PP on other threads -

Suprised the Mods just closed it & didn't just delete it.  Guess this mean we can start a thread about any organization we want to attack in the Advocacy Forum - even if it has nothing to do with BCO.

Interesting....shall we think of an organization to attack???

A real medical mystery, Gracie. It has happened sporadically throughout history so I don't think its fanciful reporting. They say that women living in close quarters sometimes have their periods together - I wonder if it is some mysterious synchronization that goes further on very rare occasions.

Last day off. Feels weird to have so much time off. (((Barbara))) Hope you are due for another cruise soon!

Athena, you have no idea how you made me laugh. My oldest son stayed home from school today because he wasn't feeling well. His little brother made a comment saying "his ovaries" must be bothering him and how he's sure his "periods" are sync'd with his buddies. A little jealous, I think, that he has to go and his brother doesn't!
