Beautiful weather in Bogota today!  My sister and I already went for a walk around the neighbood (all uphill, believe it or not) and we're going to the Usequen (sp?) market later today.  Yesterday was a busy day visiting Monserrate (sp? again), La Candelaria (sp? again), Museo Botero and Museo del Oro.  Gorgeous place, friendly people, and great food - it doesn't get any better!

E - sounds like you're having a terrific time and soooo busy.

Rosemary - lovely picture - are we going to get to see the flower girl (and her dress)?

Rosemary - so, so beautiful.  I wish them ( and you!) years and years of happiness AND good health.

Susie - PURPLE flowers????  on a tree?  Enought to make me want to move - really a gorgeous picture.  Hoping for NO NODES ( was gonna say no nodes is good nodes...but)  and finally you're being able to talk with DH about it all.  SO HARD to keep it ( AND THE ANXIETY) all squooshed inside.

Skinny Barbara ( 125...I still wonder when I last saw that on scale, maybe college?) hope you are getting more and MORE excited about yur cruise.  Where will you be going?

Enjoyful ( foolWink)  Happy Bogata.  Can't wait to see pictures.  Love that I'm "talking" to someone in Bogata.  I'm old enough to get such a good giggle about all this technology.

Just WISH WISH WISH that darn CLICKMECLICKMECLICKME woud STOOOOPPPPSTOPPPP speaking of "technology"-  isn't NO THANKS an acceptable answer?

    What incredibly beautiful pictures!

Been in the dumps and can't seem to pull out. Last time I decorated for holidays was pre BC, my DH got all the Halloween boxes out and insists we decorate for the holidays this year. So out in the front yard trying to figure out where to put the witches and bones and other silly stuff while he tries to get the lights to work.

Family dinner yesterday. Roasted poblano chilis and made a great casserole, wish I could remember what I put in it now. Sad news that BIL has been given 3-6 weeks (damn those oncs who think they are pysic.). His ins will not let him go to MDA. So angry with his (now fired, but may be to late) onc. Got him in with mine and he started chemo yesterday. (His onc was "watching" as the tumors grew...).

Blue - are you adjusted good now?

Skinny Barb - my scale hasn't seen that number since high school! Oh, cruises are the best.

Glad to be able to "travel" via all the pictures, gotta love the technology.

    Calgon take me away...

scuttlers, I can so relate to having no holiday spirit. I used to love Halloween. I would decorate my classroom, and have a great time of it. I just don't seem to care anymore. I have decorated a bit for the kids, but my heart isn't in it.

Kira - it's spring here, so that's why the jacarandas are flowering. There's purple all over Brisbane. Our university students know that when they flower, exam time is coming up. In my pic there are actually 2 - one is next door to us and is pushing up our fence - DH keeps wanting me to complain to them.

Rosemary - love the pic - they look very happy - congratulations.

I managed to get an appt with the bs on the day I go to the genetic clinic. She can give me the thyroid results then. As for the US - I've decided to get them to not send the results through to her, but pick up the scans and report the day after when I go for the biopsy - that way I can read it. The research I did about MRI showing involved lymph nodes was where they are using them pre surgery to determine if an axillary dissection is required to avoid doing SNB and going back again to take them all. So they must think that the MRI is accurate - feeling much better about that.

Still haven't told DH, but have thought about how I could for the thyroid thing. I could say I didn't tell him because I wasn't going to have it, but have changed my mind.

Told DH about the bs wanting the thyroid biopsy - told him I didn't say anything because I didn't want to do it and had been thinking about it - got him to agree I should do it - but didn't tell him I'd already made the appt :) He wasn't too p'd off - so that's something. Now I just have to hope there's nothing wrong with the axilla US.

I was thinking this afternoon - I saw the bs and onc only 4 days after the MRI - the swollen node might be a reaction to the stuff they inject into you.

susie, We're all "in your pocket" - hoping that all is well.  The STRESS, STRESS of waiting, and all these tests - uses up more energy than I think we can imagine.  Looking forward to hearing HOW GOOD you feel after all the tests.

Glad DH is being more supportive than you expected Wink

DH didn't make too much of a fuss as he's fussing about a situation he's in (it is all about him after all) - my timing was perfect. I read the US report of my goitre and it's only grown a tiny bit - I think she's just being over cautious.

    Happy Birthday Ann!!!

Susie-it's probably a good thing you told your husband about the goiter biopsy. A friend of mine had one, and her neck turned black and blue, even though she said the biopsy wasn't painful. Now how would you explain that to your husband??

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone!  Kind of just a workday, so all the internet greetings were extra-special!  Still have cake and wine coming up!

    Welcome back, Cherryl!

Susie -- fingers crossed for boring results of all your tests!

Scuttlers -- I'm so sorry about your BIL -- that is really sad.  Hoping something miraculous might still come his way.

    Waving hi to everyone! xoxo

Me, too! Waving HI to all and happy BDAY to Anne and welcome back Cherryl! Off to the dreaded work. UGH! They are making me work in the office rather than from home. Hate spending $50/week on gas.

Happy Birthday Anne!!!  Welcome back Supremo Bartender Cherryl!

Having a wonderful time in Bogota.  It's a beautiful area, and friendly people, toilet-paper sellers, and rolling wood chunks abound!   (More on that later!) Sunshiney mornings, afternoon thunderstorms, and overall cool weather make it an ideal place for a Fool like me.  ;-)

I hear the dental care is excellent here, and a fraction of a US dentist's cost.  Maybe I'll get my root canal done down here.

    Happy happy Tuesday to all!

E - you are too much!  Want to hear more about the t.p. and the excellent dental work - also please describe (in detail) the food and of course we need pictures.Laughing

Barbara - sorry you have to work from the office - seems like they are really trying to make your life difficult never mind soon you'll be on your cruise and can put all of their nonsense behind you.

Ann - Happy Birthday sorry I fogot to say so yesterday - hope you enjoyed the cake and wine.

Wondering what to make for dinner tonight?

Gracie Allen's Classic Recipe for Roast Beef

    1 large Roast of beef
    1 small Roast of beef
Take the two roasts and put them in the oven.

When the little one burns, the big one is done.
