Athena.....lol on the description of your supervisor! Have you found a good picture to match yet???

Blue.........soooooo sorry to hear about Nikki! Thanks for letting us know!  Cry

It's heartbreaking to see all the new faces and see  beloved women here fade away ((NIKKI)) This past year has been bad for people I know recieving DX. I came across my nieghbour this weekend at the cottgae while out paddling and had not seen her all summer. We stopped and chatted out on the water and she said she had not been there due to health issues. I noticed then that she had her head wrapped in a scarf and a large sun hat over top, yea, she says, just finished chemo and doing rads, we both paddle in silence......damm cancer!

This Thanksgiving had to be the most beautiful and warmest of all! The weather was warmer than some summer weekends, it was really fantastic but kinda wierd running about in bare feet through the fallen leaves and seeing people still going into the lake! As far as our Canadian dinner went here is what we had........turkey(of course),stuffing, cranberries, roasted mini potatoes with garlic, baked carrots drizzeled with butter and carmelized with brown sugar, sweet potatoes boiled and mashed with a dash of cinamon, brown sugar and butter, mixed green salad with almonds and walnuts tossed in a vinegrette dressing and if you still weren't full there was warm applecrisp, pumkin pie and apple pie with french vanilla icecream! (GROAN) I'm glad I didn't have much leftover!

Ok - major bad mood going on - scanxiety in full force.

The nurse from the breast clinic called this afternoon to discuss the MRI and ask questions re metal implants etc. She ended up recognising my voice. She was a real sweetie last year, I really liked her.

Had dinner on the go and went to the cupboard for the sauce mix I needed - NONE!!! F-ing hell, had to jump in the car and go and buy some. Car park nearly full, lots of traffic etc - didn't do my mood any good. Although in the end dinner was yummy - Chicken, beans and carrots in a Honey Mustard Sauce with rice.

Work is also giving me the sh*ts - even though I do have something I'm investigating. I think if I get that job, I don't really want to do it - probably won't get it anyway. I'm starting to think I don't want to work at all but we can't afford to retire this soon.

The "carbon tax" passed our lower house today - a sad day for Australia - we might have to run away to NZ but they also have one.

    End of rant

Have a better day than I have :)

Susie, I feel your pain. We barely managed to avoid that one and may still end up with it, if our president has his way.

Hoping everyone has a great hump day. I find I am wishing my life away by wishing it was Friday. 18 days until my cruise. Hoo boy! tried on three dresses and they DON'T fit. Am eating salad only along with protein (hormone-free cheese,  almonds, hormone-free chicken lunchmeat). Here's hoping I can do it. Oh well.

Barb - good luck with the dieting. One of the reasons I'm so cranky is that I ate too much today :)

Barbara - sorry to hear about the job.  I was crossing everything for you.  Hope you get into those dresses before you leave.

Blue - what is the update on Chemosabi?  And how are YOU doing?

Kad2Kar - want to spill the beans?  Would it help to vent out what happened?  Hugs to you for going through this rough time.

Susie - Totally get the scanxiety.  I keep lorazepam on hand at all times for days like those.  Even 2 years out I freak out anytime I have to see my oncologist.

Chemo brain is functioning - saw the picture of the litty but don't remember who posted it.  Beautiful!

Me....I am battling a sinus infection - spent 3 hours at the doctors to get some antibiotics and have pretty much been in bed for the past 5 days.  This is day 2 on the antibiotics and I got the 5 day pack so hopefully tomorrow I will start feeling better.

Barbara hoping you can drop the weight before the vacation.

Susie I so understand the fear. I had my 6 month visit, and my results are the tumor markers are up from 19-27 I hate that, I sort of wish my Onc. didn't even do them.

janice hope the sinus infection clears up fast, they are the worst.

    Jancie - get better soon.

DH doesn't want me to have the MRI but it is a year since the last one. This time tomorrow I'll be on my way there. I'm lucky I'll be the first - no waiting.

Very humid here - big storms predicted for today or tomorrow. I love any rain we can get :)

Time to go for the bus - I'm actually looking forward to having the day off tomorrow.

    Susie

I get the scanxiety. It's two weeks until the bone scan my onc ordered just ecause it had been 2 years sinec the last one and I'm nervous, even though I have no symptoms. I thimk he is going to keep me coming in every three months forever since Herceptin messed up my heart. I will ask for meds to help with anxiety if he keeps me on this schedule. It is crazy to be worried but we stll do it.

    Jancie

    Get well soon.

    Barbara

    Rats on the job.

    Everybody

I hope you all have a grea evening. I'm going out but wll try to drop by when I get back. My life is way too busy.

Rosemary - you're lucky your onc wants to monitor your bones. Mine doesn't do anything (after the initial scans at diagnosis) as he doesn't like exposing people to radiation. However he still makes DH have a CT scan every year - different cancer different risks I guess. I didn't even get a brain MRI from him but managed to get one ordered by an ENT specialist. I want to see him soon to ask about what to watch for. I know resting pain is one symptom but how the hell would you know if you had bone mets otherwise. I have tried to make an appt to see my onc since I didn't get to see him the day of my Zometa tx but they haven't called back yet - not holding my breath as he is one very busy doctor.

Don't get anxious this soon sweetie - eat chocolate :)

Hi all, Jancie, so sorry you are feeling poorly. Hate those sinus buggers. Hard to kill. Kira, I hate tumor markers, too. Sigh, I guess I hate all the tests. Rosemary, sending good scan vibes your way starting now and until it happens. Figure the more good vibes the better.

Time for a Dewars. Lost 2 lbs today. Need to lose 6 more.

ThankYou all for the hugs and letting me vent. Im just in a venting mood.  SusieQ---probabaly didnt F-F- and say enough gosh, golly, darns yet to make things better. BLUE---ThankGod for Lucky Stars and wathchful adults, it seems we lose more kids that way than any other(inAZ).Barb--Luck on weight its horrible to feel even that 2lbs that DO NOT belong on the body. Have a good trip.  Jancie --hoping you get that gone, but the weather is doing funny things again. I sprayed nasal spray yesterday and it just flowed back out. Ive thought about piercing a couple of jewlels into my cheekbones to keep the nasal passages open.  If you feel better and go horseback riding, mosey on down to UVU for a little softball. They have a really strong outfielder/2nd baseman that is really in my eyes SPECTACULAR and she is cute.   Everyone BEHAVE, have a drink on me (but dont spill it on me in the corner there)    kad2kar

Morning everyone - what a dull, dreary day - for me to say that means a lot. Remember how anti-sun I am these days.

    Rooting for Susie today/tomorrow (US/Aussie).

Barbara - I feel your pain. I have been obsessed with my weight lately. Can't believe that before canxcer I used to complain about it when I was so lithe. All I can say is that I am much better now than I was last year, but with a long way to go.

Morning girls - I'm up. I've decided not to be anxious about the MRI etc today because if there's anything there I'd rather they find it than not.

I know you will all me there with me (Athena - thanks for the PM) I'm taking a really big bag with me :)

Hey susie, I am thinking of you. . . oh and wondering where you hide the snacks in the bag?  Scanxiety makes me sooooo hungry!!!!!!  And gee, its awfully crowded in here?  Or is it just meInnocent  Heres to a VERY VERY VERY Boring Day, right?

I go for my 6month/annual next Friday.  Part of me says of course it will be nothing but then again, last October (same 6month/annual) they found something which even though it ended up to be nothing, had me dealing with tests and tests and biopsies and the like. . .

who was it who said its like living with the sword of Damocles?

Susie, that is EXACTLY the same thing I always thought with my annual mammos, U/S, MRIs, etc ... People at work would ask me, "Are you nervous? Aren't you afraid they'll find something?" and I would respond, "Hell no! If there is something in there, I damn well want to know about it! I am more afraid that they will miss something that IS there!" While the thought of something new was scary, it was a lot scarier to think that there might be something that wasn't found. Scan me till I glow in the dark, docs ... Just make sure you find it all!

Hope you had an incredibly boring day, Susie!
