So much to love about HERE.  Your friends will go look up info for you, as well as keep you endlessly supplied ( which I always look forward to and totally enjoy ) with current affairs and salient points regarding same.

Sigh !!!  I'll be glad when its done, but decided to clean my pantry.  It is not the smallest, but far from the lg. size I could make temendous use of almost all the time.  Still, somehow over these last 2 1/2 hours....the darn thing is nowhere near empty which has caused a size increase like no other.  Once again ( happened many time before ) I'm finding things that are not mine.  I'm sure of it.  How they got in there I'll never know.  Brewing lots of resentment for the trips I will have to make to my dumster later on this afternoon.

Won't bore you anymore, but if anyone knows just whom it is that deposits things all over your closets, storange spaces and even pantry, I'd love to know a current description or even name.

So had MRI for a painful shoulder today.   This was the second attempt.  First time it hurt too much to hold my arm still for an hour - and I ahd allergies.  Today, I took Zyrtec, half a benedryl, and two tramadols.  Got through the MRI and then slept through most of the afternoon.  Already have the results.  Turns out I have tendenitis, impingement, and early frozen shoulder.  No surgery - yay.

Glad you got some answers Alexandria.  I have had tendinitis in both the upper arm and elbow.  It is very painful......sounds like it will be awhile to clear up inflammation.....and then will you have PT to reestablish good ROM.  Double yay for no surgery.  What a relief!!

Alexandria - shoulder tendonitis is horrible.  I had in both shoulders at the same time about 7 years ago and I couldn't sleep, work or do a thing for two solid months. I could sit with my arms propped up on pillows...that was about it.  Honestly, the only thing that got me better was my PT massaging my neck and shoulders and 200 mg of Celebrex a day.  Celebrex is a scarey drug, but it is an anti-inflammatory and will "cure" the tendonitis.  The only thing that worked for me, and likewise prevented it's return plus changing my ergonomics at work (i.e. the way I worked on the computer).

alexandria - this is a horrible allergy season.  I've been using Chinese Herbs I get from my acupuncturist - Blue Poppy seems to be the manufacturer of the best ones.  They don't "HIT" you as fast/hard as antihistamines, but have managed my allergies with no side effects.  I'm still using the Flovent steroid inhaler, and that REALLY seems to help - no idea why, never heard of it b4 I was prescribed one.

Pain - well, I'm still a devotee of Arnica Gel - have you tried it?  Won't replace MAJOR surgical interventions, but seems to keep me moving.

Jackie - what you said about STUFF.  And how many out dated by YEARS cans of stuff can a person have? Remember, I live in a vurry, vurry small cabin like structure, awesome FREEDOM when you toss it all.  FREEDOM. But I do have another IMPORTANT question:  WHAT MAKES DUST?  How can so many clumps form in such small places?  I have no animals, I don't shed much, and when I'm not looking - DUST BALLS - bare floors, allergies, and swifter at hand  - but WHAT MAKES DUST?

Anyone notice food getting more expensive?  Perhaps I notice cuz I get a lot of stuff from Costco, only go every month or so, notice a real difference lately.  Almonds ( almos a 3 lb bag) and expect that's the bees. Come back bees.  Add BEES wellbeing to my list, after global warming.

Enjoyful - you have MANY of my female friends peeing in their panties with laughterTongue Out

Blue - meant to thank you for birds on a branch with flower...lovely.

Courtesy of HuffPost ---- Speaking of propaganda:

When a woman walked into a state-funded "crisis pregnancy center" in Manassas, Va., this summer and told the counselor she might be pregnant, she was told that condoms don't actually prevent STDs and that birth control frequently causes hair loss, memory loss, headaches, weight gain, fatal blood clots and breast cancer.

"The first three ingredients in the birth control pill are carcinogens," the CPC counselor said, adding that she always tries to talk women out of taking it.

The counselor also told the woman that condoms are not effective at preventing pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases because they are "naturally porous."

"Safe sex is a joke," she said. "There's no such thing."

NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia recorded the exchange, released Wednesday, as part of its undercover investigation into the 58 state-funded "crisis pregnancy centers" in Virginia. The organizations are part of a national network of about 2,500 Christian centers that advertise health and pregnancy services, but do not offer abortions, contraception or prenatal care. Instead, they are intended to talk women out of having abortions and to advocate abstinence until marriage.

These organizations receive state money through the sale of "Choose Life" license plates at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia's Republican gubernatorial candidate, sponsored the legislation that established that fundraising system during his time in the state senate.

NARAL sent undercover women into several crisis pregnancy centers throughout Virginia and recorded their interactions. The investigation revealed that 71 percent of the CPCs in Virginia give out medically inaccurate information about the health consequences and effectiveness of birth control, condoms and abortion.

According to the report, in addition to criticizing the use of birth control and condoms, 40 of the CPCs told women that abortion causes long-term psychological damage and leads women to develop eating disorders and drug addictions. One counselor allegedly told NARAL's undercover investigator that if she was a certain blood type, the abortion could cause her body to create antibodies that would attack her fetus the next time she tried to get pregnant.

Dolores Wisecarver, director of A Woman's Choice in Falls Church, Va., one of the locations named by NARAL in its report, refuted the findings. Wisecarver said staff always explain to women that they are not a medical office and direct them to make an appointment at a doctor's office, adding that they even pay for women's doctor's visits.

"We do promote chastity in women that are not married, and natural family planning," she said. "The reason we promote that is that not because the pope says it's a bad thing. We feel that a woman's fertility is a normal thing -- you have to take meds when you're sick, not when you're healthy, and all medication has side effects. I took birth control for years didn't know how sick it was making me until I stopped."

Tarina Keene, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia, called the recordings shocking.

"This shocking audio exposes Virginia CPCs for what they are: anti-choice field offices designed to mislead, shame, and lie to women during one of the most vulnerable times of their lives," Keene said. "Regardless of your stance on abortion, we can all agree that anyone seeking health care services and advice should receive comprehensive, non-judgmental, and factually accurate information."

I'm sitting here seething after that.  I won't be very coherent.....and I think and yes....all those babies that you want to be born but there are a whole lot of people who won't be taking care of them if they are.....what then???  It is not a matter at this point of right or wrong for the potential mother.....it is the fact that she has a right to the correct information.

I think I might have said it here before a long time ago, but my TOLERANCE for LIARS is about as low as you can go and have any at all.

Total shame and it is a total shame that so many people apparently don't feel that emotion much.  They really should.....I often wonder....if you lie, what else will you do.

2500 years ago a wise man said this about lying.  These so called Christians might learn a thing or two from the Buddha.

"For the person who transgresses in one thing, I tell you, there is no evil deed that is not to be done. Which one thing? This: telling a deliberate lie."

The person who lies, who transgress in this one thing, transcending concern for the world beyond: there's no evil he might not do.

they are not "pro-life." If they were, then they would want to feed children and ensure that they have medical care.  The lies on birth ccontrol illustrate that the anti-abortion movement is about women's sexuality - and about controlling women.

And now for some hopeful news from Harry Reid (or at least news that will make the Repubs' heads spin faster than Linda Blair's):

According to the Las Vegas Sun:

Reid said he thinks the country has to “work our way past” insurance-based health care during a Friday night appearance on Vegas PBS’ program “Nevada Week in Review.”

“What we’ve done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we’re far from having something that’s going to work forever,” Reid said.

When then asked by panelist Steve Sebelius whether he meant ultimately the country would have to have a health care system that abandoned insurance as the means of accessing it, Reid said: “Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.”

How many of those 104,000 kids waiting to be adopted were taken from their parent(s) who were not equipped to care for them in the first place? The majority should have been given up for adoption at birth.

two blue lines - why do some people read this thread if they know they don't like what they read? What happened to the Moderators advice : Don't like, don't read.  Maybe some people don't know what those 4 words mean?  Wow, wouldn't that not be surprising, ah,well....strange world, a world where some people think they have the right to insist a woman has a child when she doesn't want to. But, as wisely stated in so many ways, the child is not considered worth taking care of by the very community who insisted the woman remain pregnant. Seems strange, someone could think a fetus more important than a young child.

BLUE - read your last link, did anyone else notice that the person who wrote the offensive piece used a FAKE NAME to sign it, while threatening to post the REAL names of other people.

Such lovely words in the Blue Line :This Post is suppressed because you are ignoring (name of poster). Makes life so much more pleasant - for those who haven't yet used this feature - AND, it means the Ignored Poster can't PM you either.  Also saves all those brussel sprouts.

Oh, Sunnyflowers, lots of people behind blue lines think the rules don't apply to them. That sense of entitlement they have to stick their noses in other people's business and their reproductive organs. Don't feed them, it only encourages them to stick around.

Regarding that article that Blue posted, isn't ironic? Maybe some of them vote Republican. Maybe some of them are ... Oh ... Disabled veterans. Good way to honor their service to their country. Or born disabled. Keeping it classy as always.

Sun - were you reading between the blue lines?Laughing

Just to agree with Sun: the number of children up for adoption versus the number of "pro-life" people in this country just demonstrates how empty the rhetoric is about caring for every child.  Also, (as someone who worked in this field), babies or very young children without problems, regardless of race,  who are taken from their parents because the parents are unable or unwilling to care properly for them are very quickly adopted.  It is the special need kids - the older kids, the younger kids with physical or emotional problems - who wither away without adoptive homes.  You don't see the "pro-lifers" rushing to adopt those kids.   Yet, they object to tests that could show whether an embryo has downs or spina bifida; they scream murder if a woman decides to terminate a pregnancy because she cannot care for a severely disabled child.

The fact that someone doesn't "get" the connection between "pro-life" rhetoric and personally adopting children again shows the emptiness of the rhetoric.  If you believe that every child should be born and treaured, then put your money where your mouth is.  Adopt a special needs kid - or two.  You do that, and maybe I'll have a little more respect for your position.

As so many of us have said - the anti-abortion movement is not about protecting children or treasuring children.  It is about penalizing women for having sex.

Silly ladies!  Don't you know?  Sex is just there for procreating.  Don't want kids, don't have sex!  But first get it through the old repug men's thick skulls!  I wonder how many young'uns they'd have to give up?
