Paula...old hippies make it through and there is a lot of hand holding for you.  Get well soon.

Blue:  that was a very good piece.  One of the things I found amazing....yrs. and yrs. ago were the people who wanted "closure" because I never felt there could be any for crimes.  I know that at least the courts handing down a sentence ( if it is appropriate ) is a form of it, but nothing ever brings back something lost.

I am still just as upset with all the "Nra'ers" who feel so threatened by the possibilities of the new gun laws.  By the fact that their RIGHTS may be violated --- they were violated long time ago when all those people got maimed and killed.  Not by us....who want to see a return to a ban on those weapons....but by the lifting of the Reagan ban.  The door was reopened.....all of the victims paid for your rights with their life.  It is just well past time for all of us to show some decency and respect for that and the first people who need to are those who are already and have been feeling like the "injured" party.  If only you were....if only it had been you instead of those children.

Paula, please make sure that your doctor knows how sick you are, don't sugar coat anything. I hope you feel better soon.

Chickadee, a truly appropriate designation I think.

Blue, part of what amazes me is how much farther right the right has moved since Reagan, although I do think many of them do support some additional gun regulations. I think that Republican law makers are caught in a bind right now. Some spoke up for more regulation and got slammed by the NRA side, then some spoke up saying we don't need more regulation and got slammed for that. If you notice many Democrats are still speaking up for regulation but most Republicans have gone silent on the issue.

The guy who is chairing the gun appreciation day was on one of the morning news shows today and suggested that things might have gone much better in earlier days if only slaves had been able to have guns. I nearly spit out my coffee.

Maybe they would have killed his ancestors and we wouldn't have to listen to such tripe from him in 2013, Lassie!Tongue Out The man's got a point - lol!

    "Spitting out coffee" too!

Lassie, I don't believe they're able to understand how ridiculous they sound.

((((((((Paula))))))) - yes, make sure your PCP and Onc know that you are very sick - try to stay super hydrated and if you can't perhaps a trip to the ER is a good idea.

I am going into work late today. Last nigh I was at the hospital with my daughter while she had an 8 lb 8 oz baby boy. at 12;33 am Her husband had taken the other 3 kids home about an hour before the baby was born so I got to cut the cord. That was something I never expected I would do. Cool. Baby Boy has no name yet.

I would have posted from the hospital but I still can't get the Nook to let me post on BCO. Oh well, I need to finish my coffe and get dressed.

    AMAZING, Rosemary - congratulations!

Concerned about Paula. If she is in nadir the hospital may not be a safe place for her because of the risk of infection. Sewingnut, if you have any further news, please post.

Congrats Rosemary.  How many is that now?  I am so jealous.

Paula, please be kind to yourself.  Build yourself a nest and stay put.

ROSEMARY - how wonderful.  Good health, happiness, long life to ALL.

Pip - that was the sweetest video, just loved it.

rr- haven't been to "citadel" web link, yet - but still boggles the mind.

Blue - wendell whatzisothernamestoo, III ( the third) is fabulous - so, so, so sweet

chickadee - a Congress of our Congress.  perfection!  anyone from north or south of the border who wants to understand what's happening to our Congress of Babboons, has to check out the word "gerrymandering" - and what happens in each of the "lower 48" ( don't know bout da odder 2 ;-) after every decade Census...trully amazing, looking at a congressional district in many states, is like seeing, well, an abstract painting done by (no offense) Wendell....

Thrilled for you, Rosemary!  You'll tell us when the parents choose a name, right?  (Was your hand shaking when you cut the cord?  I'm pretty sure mine would be.  And what a great and fitting image, even if the metaphor is a little tangled . . . we may cut some of the cords that tie us to our kids, but if we are very lucky, we may get to cut the cord for our grandkids.)

Sending many good wishes to Paula.  I hope you're resting and staying hydrated and feel better soon.

Thanks to all of you wonderful Gals for your thoughts and well wishes. I think I'm coming out the woods. I haven't been out of the house since Tuesday. I've just built myself a nest and hunkered down. I really think it was just a head cold, but because it hit during my nadir period, I got a triple whammy.

I'm still weak, and have a bit of cough still, but everything else is much better. I have spoken to the doctor on call, and to to my oncs nurse.

Sewingnut told me to check in here before you all have me put in the hospital. Lol

I actually got dressed today for the first time since Tuesday, and made myself a light lunch. I've been getting my fluids too.

    Blessings

    Paula
