Had appt with BS today says he thinks abcsess

Well I went today to the BS. He did a small ultrasound in office and thinks I have an abcsess in my breast left from the mastitis... He wanted me to have mammo and ultrasound today but there was a 4 hour appointment lag and we had a 2.5 hour drive to get back home. I scheduled for tomorrow in my home town. Then if those are ok he wants to do surgery next Thursday to drain the abcsess. Still worried it is something more since I am 42 and have not had a baby in 17 years but will wait and see.

Tonya, best of luck. Assuming the surgery goes ahead as scheduled, you'll know for certain after that since if there's no abcess to drain he'll see that & also see what else is going on.

Never thought I would say an abscess is a good thing but happy to hear that is what it is. The fluid will be tested. That is pretty standard procedure to eliminate cancer cells. Don't worry, be happy.
