Hip/Spine Pain

So I've been having a deep ache in my right hip bone area which at times radiates down my leg.  Now I've been startng to have pain in the middle of my spine.  I had a clean bone scan last May, and have a bunch of other scans in between that have all been normal. 

Obviously my biggest concern is bone mets, but wondering if it's safe to have ANOTHER scan already.  I am supposed to have recon later this month and have to have scans done for that, and am worried as well about all the long term effects of all this radiation.

I am on Tamoxifen, am 48 years old.  Praying for arthritis, but the hip pain is just plain weird.  

Would appreciate any advice or thoughts you might have.

How long have you had these pains?  I would say that if it's been going on for a few weeks, you should call your oncologist and see what he/she says.  If they decide to scan you, then you won't have to do it again for the recon.  My husband has had over 50 brain MRIs in the last 7.5 years, and I've often wondered about long-term effects, but the necessity of doing scans far outweighs that risk in my mind.  I'm praying for good news for you.  Hang in there.
