A Not so Fond Farewell to 2010.

Happy and healthy New Year to all. 2010 was not at all kind to my family. I lost my job and my insurance. I tried to keep up the COBRA coverage but between Linda and myself it was $1200.00 per month so I dropped off it and am now depending on the V.A. for my health care, which means driving 100 miles each way to Mather Field in Sacramento. But before my coverage ran out I had surgery on my torn rotator cuff which the doctor says is work related but the worker's comp people are putting up a fight over it. Then my 85 year old mother fell and shattered her shoulder, requiring joint replacement. My uncle who was 96 fell and broke his femur, developed complications in the hospital and passed away in a nursing facility. And finally, Linda's b.c. diagnosis and surgerys and we end the year in limbo waiting for the tumor board meeting on the 4th to find out what they will recommend for the 1 positive node. So 2011 will probably get off to a rocky start but I sure hope it smooths out from there and is a kinder, gentler year. BTW, I have to go to Sacramento tomorrow for cataract surgery. At least I should be able to see 2011 more clearly.
