Is it maybe DCIS with invasive component...? I had both DCIS (which is non-invasive) and IDC.

    Janette,

If you have IDC and DCIS, then yes, there are lots of us here who had that and are doing well years out.  Looks like you've been through all your treatments....how are you doing?

    Hugs

    Hi SpunkyGirl

Yes I am through with the chemo, rad and herceptin.  Now have to go for preventive surgery as I have the gene and not the Calvin Klien kind.  Well I know all will be alright and then Skies the Limit.

Have a great New Year and Lots of fun.

IDC +  EIC means invasive ductal carcinoma + extensive intraductal (i.e. DCIS) component.  The IDC is the important part for determining treatment.  The DCIS is important if you want to have a lumpectomy, but if you have a mastectomy the DCIS should all be removed and not be a factor.  It might mean you are more likely to have close margins even with a mastectomy.  The treatment you are having for the IDC should be enough that the DCIS is not an issue.

I was diagnosed invasive ductal carcinoma with lobular features.  I've always wondered what lobular features means.

Sorry I have took so long to reply but lobular means that its in the milk ducts which fills up with abnormal cells to cause the cancer.
