Pain in left lower back, hip, and leg
Could this be bone mets? My onc has ordered an x-ray (had it today), MRI, and a bone scan. Waiting for insurance approval for the last two. My pain is not great, but it is constant and it hurts to lay on my back at night when trying to sleep. Notice "trying" to sleep, lol!. Radiates from my left lower back, down through hip, but mainly in upper thigh, to the left. I was diagnosed 3.5 years ago, TN, stage 1, grade 3, no node involvement.
I wasn't too concerned, but today suddenly became very worried. I won't have the scans until early January, so I have a couple of weeks to wait. I can't continue to worry like this. . .
What do you ladies think?

I hoping and praying it will just be arthritis or even less than that. I know only too well what you are going through and the anxiety and fear of what it could be stinks. Fortunately for me, anytime - SO FAR - that something troubling has happened to me, it's gone completely away in a few hours, or with some bengay, etc. But if it's been hanging around for a while or getting worse, then we know it's time to see the doctor. You have done the right thing. I hope the xray shows what it is and the other tests can be shelved. Keep us posted, please - and remember - it isn't always the big "C" although that's always our first worry.
Try to enjoy the holidays as best you can - sending you all good wishes for it to be nothing.

Did you have any scans when you were originally diagnosed? I know when I did, they saw the arthritis I had already started to develop exactly where I was having my achy weather-related pains. That's helped me to keep my aches and pains in perspective since the bc.
That said, I certainly hope it is only arthritis or some other non-fatal, easily managed condition. Meanwhile, maybe your dr can prescribe some Xanax or other anti-anxiety med to get you through the holidays.

Thank you, ladies. You've helped a lot. I'm not as worried today which is good, since i can't do anything about it anyway! I never had any bone scans, bone MRI's or x-rays. Only my breast, so there is nothing to compare it to. I've had this pain for 6 months now, but I thought it was due to new running shoes, a new exercise routine, etc. I've changed shoes, stopped excercising due to lots of rain and this hip pain, and ruled out several other things, such as our new mattress.
I've got to let it go . . . and enjoy the holidy. Happy Holidays to all of you!
