treatments?

Hi Everyone,

I am new on here and was hoping for some help.

I am 38 diagosed on 11/3/10 with TN IDC. I had a partial mast on the right side...the tumor was 2.5 cm, all nodes and margins clean. the DR. told me it is stage II grade 0 . I just had a pet scan which came back clean. I am now recovering from the surgery, which they also did a bilaterial breast reduction , since so much margin tissue was removed. I need to make a descision on treatments now. The side affects of Chemo scare me more then the Cancer. Has anyone done just RAD treatrment after surgery and NOT chemo? Please give me some advise ...as I am scared.

I'm not in your shoes, exactly, and I'm not trying to influence your decision either way, but I will say that the SE's from chemo are not nearly as bad or untreatable as they were even 5 years ago.  I was terrified of that, too, and I'm not going to tell you chemo is fun, but the SE's were all manageable.  I worked through out treatment.  Keep in mind, there are SE's from rads, too. 

Listen to your dr., gather information (as you're doing), and listen to your gut.  You'll know what to do.

Everyone's body reacts a bit differently so I don't know what your experience might be, but I wanted to offer some help in maybe alleviating your fears a bit about chemo if you should decide to go that route.

I know this is just one response on one website, but I am trying to get the word out about a clinic in Houston that is AMAZING and the man that started it is brilliant. Like everything, you will find criticisms of him out there, by people that haven't been treated by him, but the testimonial from patients are incredible. The clinic is called The Burzyski Institute and you can find them online. He has been successfully treating cancer since the 70's but has been persecuted by the FDA for decades. Well, after two months of treatment, with the worst symptom being some hairloss, my dad had a clear PET scan on December 1st. You have to understand, he had mulitiple tumors in his neck, and it was in his lymph system as well. I believe that Burzynski has the cure that everyone has been looking for, but no one knows about. Another kind of treatment my wife will try tomorrow is called a "SOQI bed" which covers the patient in 'Far Infra-red radiation'. Claiming to help kill cancer cells in conjunction with good diet, supplements etc, and ionized/alkaline water.
