Lump on one side of neck

Options

So I've been sick for about a week now, and every reason to have swollen lymph nodes, but I am feeling a bump in one side of my lower neck nodes and not the other. Its not on my "cancer side" which makes me worried about a second primary. I won't panic and rush to the doctor unless it is still there after I've recovered, but has anyone heard of swollen nodes on only one side?

yes it is totally possible to have swollen nodes on one side only. I'm sure its just your body fighting the infection, hang in there and ride out being sick and if its still there  a few weeks later get it checked out. I had a "permanently?" -(been there for several months)- swollen node on the back of my neck at the time of my dx- opposite side from the BC  and I had it biopsied- B9.

Yes, it is possible.  I had a swollen lymph node on one side of my neck during a nasty sinus infection.  It was there for several weeks and disappeared.

Yes! I had 2 swollen lymph nodes in my left groin more than 25 years ago. My family doctor said I had lymphoma and sent me to a medical center in another state. A biopsy showed it was a viral infection and the surgeon deemed it "cat scratch fever". Ironically this was on the same side of my body as the bc.
