First 6 month follow up and now worried

I had an excisional biopsy in June of this year and the results came back with ADH.  Now on Wednesday I have my first follow up appt with mammo.  I can't help but be nervous about this.  I had major knee surgery done 5 weeks ago and I am still on crutches and working very hard to get back on my feet, literally.  I just can't imagine something being wrong with my breast again and having to go through all this again.  I guess I could use some prayers for a clean mammo.

Hey Melissa, my thoughts and prayers will be with you on Wednesday.  I am having my 4th and last AC chemo on Wednesday.  I know it's just a matter of time before I am worried about that first follow up appointment too.  Good luck and please post how it goes!

    Hugs,

    Susan

I understand the anxiety.  I had my first follow-up about three weeks ago and I still have hematomas from my Mammotome biopsy, so I knew they would find "things"...and they did.  The radiologist wanted to talk to me and talked about doing a biopsy, but I said no, that my surgeon knew what was going on and the lumps were far smaller than they were in July.  My surgeon's office called a few days later and confirmed that everything was OK and the hematomas were dissolving.  Phewww!!!  Hang in there, there's a very high probability that everything will be OK.

I need knee replacement surgery too, but I decided that I had to take a break from intensive medical procedures.  Maybe next year...

Hi Melissa. Sending you happy, calm vibes.  I've also been doing the alternating imaging and totally understand the anxiety.  Thinking only good thoughts for you.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.  Got the reminder call from my Dr.'s office today about the appt. and my heart just sunk when I heard it.  I have to try and stay calm about this.  Not to mention I am not able to drive yet and my husband already takes me to two physical therapy appointments a week and now I feel bad about having another appt to go to this week.  I just don't think I could handle another thing going wrong with my health right now so this just has to be ok.  I really don't look forward to doing this every 6 months.  Especially since after my ADH dx my BS wanted to put me on Tamoxifen and I decided not to do it right away.  Now I am second guessing that decision.  But, it wouldn't have been good for me to be on the Tamox with knee surgery because of the added risk of blood clots.  I just REALLY need something to go my way.

    Thanks again ladies!

Just wanted to update.  I am one happy girl!!  I had my mammo and it was clean and my BS said I will see you in six months and gave me a hug!  What a relief.  She said we will talk more about Tamoxifen in six months after I am recovered from my knee surgery.  Thank God!
