Due to recurrence after 4 years, this time stage IV, we are looking for treatment in a leading IDC center in the United States, although we don't live in the US.

There are top hospitals in the US that would probably fall into this category.

I can recommend my OWN oncologist.  He is Doctor Andres Torres-Forrero.  His area of research is lymphoma.  However, he "likes" to treat breast cancer patients.

MD Anderson is probably the best known US hospital, but I have a particular fondness for UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham)...they have the technologies / scanning, etc. and it is a research center so you have access to study drugs, etc.

I am particularly impressed with this doctor because he is very kind.  (My doc for 6+ years.)

One time I was asking him a (serious) HARD question...he said, "Tammy N., I normally do whatever the patient wants."

I have observed him for a number of years, and I have found this to be true.  ^

Top hospitals in the US for cancer:
    http://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/rankings/cancer?page=1

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    *Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.
America's Trusted Source for Identifying Top Doctors

    or

*If your physician isn't listed here it doesn't mean they aren't great. This is just a guide. Physicians do not pay to be on this list. I believe other physicians must rate these physicians highly in order to get on this list.

    ----------------------------------

My onc, PS and BS happen to be on this list. Didn't even know that when I chose them. I am being treated at the #43 (cancer) hospital in the US. My city also has the #15 and # 27. All three are excellent but I chose my doctors not hospitals. My doctors are not as famous (don't publish quite as much I guess) as the others so I think that's why the hospital rating isn't quite as high.

Pick you doctor but also pay attention to the hospital too. #43 in the nation still isn't shabby. ;-)
