Hello! I finished my chemo and will begin Thursday with just Herceptin for a year. I have noticed that my legs feel heavy and weak. Wanted to start exercising to gain more strength and lose some of this 15 pounds I gained on my TCH regimen and wondered if anyone else had this problem. Thanks!

I just finished chemo 11/26/10 and I am experiencing the same thing.  My muscles in general feel like I have had a big workout, which I have not.   I am weak and tired.  I think, however, this is post chemo normal.

I have Herceptin yet on the horizon.

Hope you and I both feel better soon.

I am nearing the end of chemo and have been feeling this way as well. Walking up the stairs this morning to get to work was such a chore, my muscles felt like I was running at the end of a marathon. I am extremely weak and tired. I will also be trying to start an exercise regime soon. Keep us informed on how you are doing! Laughing

Thank you both for your response. My legs are still a bit weak but overall are feeling better. Hope you both do well! Take care.

My legs feel like crap if I sit all day. The more I move around the better I feel. I'm still doing chemo (tx 4 last week). I know a few days after chemo I do have more aches but do try to go out and walk most days.

Hi  I don't know if this will help you at this point of treatment but I am just starting my TCH and then I get the neulasta shot after. The onco told me to take L-Glutamine powder only and you can get it at GNC or other heath food stores , I take it the day of my chemo, and for 5 days, (2 tsp.    3x day) mix with water or juice,NOT MILK it is to help with leg pain from the shot,so far I have not had any leg pain at all

studdies have shown that supplemental gutamine can decrease and often relieve, myalgias and arthralias(achs and pains)and neuropathy (damage to nerve endings)associated with certain chemtheropy drugs.do not take if you have Liver or Kidney problems,Reye's syndrome,or any type of disorder that can result in an accumulation of ammonia in the blood.Hope this helps you.
