How many Tattoos/marks did you get?

Options

Just wondering if everyone gets as many tattoos/marks as I did today for Rads.  I got 10 tattoos today.   And all but the ones on the breast and underarm area which are still numb from surgery hurt like hell.  How about you?

I got three.  I wonder why you needed 10?

Houndmommy - I noticed you had IDC, ILC, DCIS, and LCIS and had 8, I also had more than 1 type of cancer in the same breast  IDC, ILC, and DCIS.  Maybe this is why we had so many?

I do also have limited range of motion in that arm, so I thinking this could be a reason for so many.  Or a combination of that, the amount of cancers detected, and because I have tissue Expanders.  Maybe?

I had 5 because of limited range of motion in the 1st ct.  After 2 weeks, range of motion improved and needed the 2nd ct, hence 2 more tats.

Tammyg - I don't know why I had so many compared to the other ladies.  I had a mx and they radiated the entire breast area plus under my arm and toward my back.  My 4 tumors were all in the same breast quadrant/area (imagine a slice of pie with the nipple as the center.  They were between 11:00 and 12:00 going down toward the nipple) so I'm not sure if that is why my rad area was so large.  My arm range of motion was good by the time I had rads too.

I had to chuckle when I got my tatts - I always thought I'd like to get a tattoo but those little dots they gave me for rads hurt like the dickens!  Cured me of wanting a tattoo!

Good luck with your radiation!  I hope it goes well for you.

I agree about the not wanting any sort of "for fun" tattoo. I only had 5 and the Tech preview comment "these will only prick like a bee sting.." was far off for me.  Mine are blue and they do show up rather radically against my very fair skin. I am not, however considering having them removed. I will have had way too much "messing around" with my body to consider anything else unless medically necessary.

I actually always wanted a tattoo too.  But not anymore.  I actually didnt think they would hurt because I thought that I would be getting them in the areas that are still numb from my bilat-mast.  But I think I only recieved 3 in those areas, and all the rest kind of took me by supprise.  They were able to bump up my start date from the 15th to this Weds.  Dr. said not to be supprised if I do get more tattoos after he goes over my plan with the other Docs.  BTW- mine are blue too.  But she actually said she was able to put 2 on existing moles, so they are more black.
