Anyone have an ANA test come back positive?

I have been experiencing pain and do not take any meds that could be responsible. It started in my feet but recently had some in the joint of my ring finger. I had an ANA test come back positive but my rhematologist said that cancer can make that happen. He says he thinks I have sera-negative arthritis affecting my tendons instead of joints. Has anyone had this to happen?
