Nutrition, Exercise, and Wellness Study Breast Cancer Relative

The Miriam Hospital is looking for women with a mother, sister, or daughter with breast cancer, but no personal history of cancer, to participate in The News for Women Study. This goal of this 6-month phone and web-based program is to help you feel better, look better, and get in shape.

News for Women is a research study funded by the National Cancer Institute (R25CA087972 ) and designed to help you adopt a healthy lifestyle by incorporating nutrition or exercise into your everyday life. If you are eligible to participate, you will receive exercise or nutrition information as well as breast cancer related information via the internet. All contacts will occur through the phone or online, no in-person meetings are required so you can live anywhere in the continental US. This wellness program is based on proven research. Participants will be compensated for their time.

Am I eligible to participate?
• Must be between 18-65 years old
• Must have a mother, sister or daughter who was diagnosed with breast cancer
• Must not have a personal history of cancer
• Not a regular exerciser
• Not eating enough fruits and vegetables
• Must be a female, without high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, or heart disease
