Never took PET

After the chemo, double and radiation, I never took the PET scan.  Can't take any more bad news...is this really necessary?

I'm not sure what stage you are but I think it is better to know. It could prolong your life. The earlier something is seen the earlier it is treated before it spreads further. You can get the cancer, if it has spread, under control. Without knowing and no treatment your chances of living longer decline dramatically. It sucks being in the know but it is crucial for long term survival. I know how you feel... not wanting any more bad news but it could prolong your life. Hugs...

I was never offered a PET scan.  It's not standard protocal where I live with Stage I and no node involvement.   I have mixed feelings, as it's good to know, but the extra radiation isn't something I welcome either.
