true triple negative?

My mom has ER 1%, PR 3%, HER-. If her final pathology from her mastectomy surgery supports these original findings from her biopsy, would you say she is practically triple negative with such low percentages and not much of a candidate for hormone treatment? Or am I wrong to think such a low percentage means anything?

I am very grateful to have you as a wise collective, the professionals can be so vague, uncomfortably so. This board has been priceless over our last few weeks in offering clear direction to make decisions by, based on many experiences. Thank you for your input and advice.

Nina, I am ER 3% , PR- and HER-. My oncologist considers me a true triple negative. There has been no mention of follow up medication after my chemo. I am doing 4 treatments of Taxotere and Cytoxin. 2 down, 2 to go. There is a good triple negative thread on this board called "calling all TNS". Please check it out. The ladies on there are very knowledgable about Triple negative. Best wishes to your Mom!
