GREAT news Barbe!! I guess it's great considering what it COULD have been!!!!
You done good
-
What a day. I'm so glad you finally got connected to the Dr. I'm relieved for you. I'm happy you've got osteoarthritis, sheesh, how weird is that?
-
YaY for only bad osteoarthritis! (LOL) But seriously, I'm so glad you're okay!!! I'm sure you'll sleep well tonight! Deanna
-

terrific news about the mets! Can't wait to have my bone scan so that I can know!
-
Thanks guys! I kinda expected to JUMP out of bed today, but still very much in pain. But at least I can see a near future without a wheelchair in it....my cane and braces are serving me well. I even have a walker in the trunk of the car...
-
Barbe, have you ever consulted with an integrative doctor? I'm wondering if there are diet changes and/or supplements that might ease your pain somewhat. I know when I stopped eating wheat & other gluten products, for example (as much as possible without being fanatic about it), a lot of my aches & pains seemed to greatly improve. I just wonder if there might be hidden food allergies involved in your severe osteoarthritis pain. Deanna
-
That is where my mind is going now Deanna. I want to do a cleanse and then slowly introduce food back into my body. As I also have Gout, there are many, many foods I can't eat. More foods I can't eat, than can! Wheat will be the last to be introduced, trust me! That and gluten.
Do you have a website I can link to?
-
I'll find some links for you Barbe. But I have to tell you, now that I rarely eat wheat, when I do, I'm amazed at how crappy I feel. I mean the increased joint pain (from low estrogen) is immediately noticeable. So I think your plan to do a cleanse and then reintroduce foods is extremely wise.
Are you on Facebook? There's an integrative doctor on there that I follow, and he might be able to give you some guidance. He's very open and accessible. Deanna
PS ~ Here's one site that looks pretty rational. I'll find more for you later:

Hi Barbe, Congrats on your bone scan results! Just wanted to let you know for next time- within about 24-48 hours after your scan you can go to the place you had it done and get a copy of the results yourself. They are your medical records and you are entitled to your results, no waiting necessary! I always get my results immediately. It is always spelled out at the bottom: Conclusion, etc. so you know exactly what was found.
I hopped on this thread to read about your scan because I'm going to be having my first and I wanted to know what to expect. My knee and hip are driving me crazy! Sounds like lots of women experience this after chemo. Oh the joys...
Good luck to you!
-
Thanks Deanna, I got introduced to the Livestrong site from the Lunch Bag thread. I'll check the other one out too.
Lady, I'm in Canada and they won't let you have a record without paying at least $50 for it. It's to stop you from reading it before a doctor goes over it with you. As I'd had bone scan, blood work, MRI and x-rays, that would have been $200. Or I could wait.....
-
Haleula Hannah....I was sooo not looking forward to having a new member of the Mets Club - not that we don't love you Barbe - we do - just would prefer you stay our supporter, cheerleader and condolences wisher (I didn't know how else to say that one)...so YYYYYYIIIIIPPPPPEEEE! You are a NO-METSTER!
Hope you can find the source of the pain now that mets is out - whew, could be something way 'normal'...imagine that!
Hugs....Low
-
Thanks Low...I'm still wondering about your avatar and what you're wearing...I can't quite figure out how stripes go up your neck and end in a black band!
-
Sorry Barbe, didn't check your profile well enough. Shoulda known a vet like you would have already been on this trick like white on rice if possible! Well damn, learned something new today! Can't believe they MAKE YOU WAIT LIKE THAT!! Poo on them... that stinks.
Well, all's well that ends well- THANK GOODNESS YOU'RE IN THE CLEAR
