Joint pain...HELP

Options

Okay so I finished my radiation on 11/12/10 and everything since then has been textbook until tonight.  I woke up from a nap and every joint in my body hurts as well as the muscles and my "broken" boob.  I do have a slightly sore throat but this is not nornal body aches from being ill.  I have had 4 DD A/C, 12 weekly taxols and 36 rounds of rads.  Any thoughts??  It hurts to walk and type, should I be calling my doctor??  Thanks ladies, Angi

Angie- I didnt have rads so cant comment on weather that could be the culprit, but with all the other tx you had maybe its just all catching up with you?? And with a sore throat it could be some nasty flu, which has been going around i hope that is all it is! Hopefully some one who has done rads will chime in and let you know if they had that problem too, just wanted to give you a hug (((((((((hugs)))))))))

Yup.  Sounds like "normal" radiation flare.

    Ibuprofen.

See the doctor to be sure...but, I blew up like the Pillsbury Doughboy a couple of weeks after completing rads.

Plus those nice anti-inflammatory steroids have worn off...I could hardly walk the year following treatment...and I was TOO DUMB to go to the doctor and ask for some MOBIC.

Eventually.  EVENTUALLY, I figured it out.

(Go to the head of the class!)  :)

I had terrible joint problems for the months following chemo.  If I tried to go from sitting to standing, I could not straighten my knees and I literally had to push up on a table or something to get to the standing position.   Luckily this is alot better now!!!!  I did not go to the doctor because I just wanted to be away from treatment for a while. But thinking back, I'd probably advise you to phone your onc and tell them about your symptom. They might have some way of relieving your pain.

    Sending hugs.
