Hi all,

I have a different type of question. Are Radiesse injections in the face interfere with LCIS or have side effects?

Thanks,

Lay02

oh I am so glad someone asked this...I don't know either, and boy, do I want them.

I am pretty sure that my onc would say "no", as it will still be systemic a bit; anything weird like botox, they usually say no to.

I think my PS will say yes.  I would google it, and see if anyone else on here chimes in.

I do have a friend in a dermatologists' office....the SEs can be swelling, hives, permanent redness, risk of allergic reaction, all those nasty things we don't like to usually read.

I know I heard no way to botox, even tho some PS use it for muscle spasms.  My onc is very conservative and there is a new school of belief that BC is tied to auto immune stuff.  Very important not to put more things into your body that are foreign, or that your immune system could perceive as foreign.

This is still at the theory stage, but I want Radiesse too!!!  Hope someone has an answer.

    Happy turkey day!

I called my Onco and she said it was OK for me to get Botox. Im 34 years old and a newlywed and my face needs a lift.  Ha ha I went through some rough chemo and it left some ugly wrinkles that I don't want to see as a 34 year old newlywed. Ciao

Yes that is correct , I had asked my onco as well and it is ok to use Botox and facial fillers, so Anniealso go for it if it makes you feel better :)

Before BC, I had Radiesse injections.  Radiesse which "can't migrate" migrated.  My injections were done by a plastic surgeon with an outstanding reputation.  My Radiesse "fell" and I had lumps inside my mouth which caused my dentist to believe I had something very wrong.  She sent me to an oral surgeon who thought it could be oral cancer. He operated and removed seven chunks and sent them for biopsy.  They were all RADIESSE.  This was reported by me and by the oral surgeon to the FDA and to the manufacturer.  Ultimately, the plastic surgeon reported it as well and stopped offering it. Since then, my dentist has seen many of these cases and Radiesse no longer claims that it doesn't migrate.   Prior to Radiesse, I used other products without a problem.  I really recommend you give this careful consideration - the pain of the biopsies and the size of the scars inside my mouth are not to be ignored......   By the way, Botox can be used according to my doc and thank goodness for that :)
