for those taking DIM i found this to be quite interesting

http://foodforbreastcancer.com/news/dim-from-broccoli-and-other-brassica-vegetables-prevents-metastasis-in-mice

the author suggests that people do not take DIM because apparently there is 'some' evidence that this concentrated form may act as a estrogen antagonist.  i'm not sure what this author is referring to.  i'm off to see if i can find out.

I take DIM but I also eat at least 4 of the vegetables listed in the article daily.

This is something I kind of suspected intuitively (this part, I mean: "the anticancer properties of such vegetables are likely to be the result of synergistic interaction of their various chemical components"), so although I do have DIM, I only take it on the few days when I don't eat the vegetables it's in naturally.

(Same with other supplements except for iodine and vitamin D, btw... I just assume that there are undiscovered micronutrients that work synergistically with the nutrient, so it's much more effective to get it through whole foods than to take it in isolated form. That said, I do still have a cabinet full of nutrients/supplements that I take occasionally depending on what I've been eating!)
