Makeup and body products that are safe

Can anyone recommend makeup and body products that are safe and don't have all the carcinogens in them. I am using now Physician's formula makeup organic wear, but don't know if this is good or not.

I just bought some moisterizer at the body shop (organic), but the list of ingredients made my head spin. I understand they are owned by Loreal now.

Hi!  If you go to www.cosmeticsdatabase.com

you can search for the cosmetics you use and it rates how hazardous they are based on their ingredients.

I buy my body creams from Whole Foods, mostly. As far as makeup is concerned, if you go to Ulta.com, you can do a search on paraben free cosmetics. I recently purchased Tarte foundation, and it's phthalate and paraben free. I had a hard time finding foundations with coverage. I use Physicians Formula on days when I don't need a lot of coverage, but there are times (at work and in the evening) when I'd prefer more coverage from my makeup.

I looked up my makeup a while ago on the cosmeticsdatabase, and was surprised to see what I was using was one of hte worst. I had used the same makeup for years. This is info more women need to be aware of long before BC hits.

Its all so confusing I don't know what to add except that I use olive oil as my body moisturizer (sometimes on my face too) and it really works well and is not all that greasy. Nothing added!

I use argon oil on my face at night and on my cuticles.  It absorbs pretty quickly. I don't use it for day, since I want a suncreen and it is a bit heavy to wear under makeup IMO.  I get the Josie Marin at Sephora, and I love it.  Scored well on the hazard scale, too.  It smells similar to olive oil,

I use straight coconut oil as a moisturier. I also like 100 Per Cent Pure products.

Olive oil actually absorbs in the skin pretty well, but you can't get too carried away. I like it right after a shower while all the skin is nice and warm. And I have oily skin, but doesn't cause breakouts. If used on the face you really only want a few drops. I've heard great things about coconut oil too but have never tried myself.

I think I will try the olive oil, after all I have it in the house all the time anyway. My skin is so dry there are times I scratch till I bleed. I don't even want to think how dry I will be now using Femara.

Almost everything I put on my skin comes from either Origins or Whole Foods.  Origins is fantastic for skin care and cosmetics.  Their entire line is paraben-free and plant-based, and their products have ingredient lists I can actually understand.   Plus the stuff is just wonderful; my skin looks better than ever.

I also have to be very careful choosing shampoos and conditioners now, because a few months after my year-long post-bilateral reconstruction process was over, post-traumatic stress hit me blindside.  The adrenal exhaustion from that caused my hair to start shedding like mad.  I found a great biotin shampoo at Whole Foods that really helped with that (in addition to weekly accupuncture and Gaia's Adrenal Health capsules).
