Should I be concerned???
I had a MRI in August. Everything was fine. I went for a mammogram and ultra sound in November. When I had the Mammo, which was first, the technician really hurt me. She kept saying it was because the dr. who reads it likes a certain type of film, and she didn't want to have to call me back to do more. I was really sore. Then I have an ultra sound, and I could tell something was off. The Dr. came in, did it, and asked me if I had bruised my breast or suffered any recent trauma to it. How did I forget about the mammo 20 minutes before, but I did. Anyway the Dr. said the mammogram was fine, however, in the ultra sound, the seroma that has been there since surgery looks bigger. She did say that it looked like it was bruised and it was bleeding internally, and not like cancer. However she does want me to come back in 3 months just to be sure. Rationally, I think it's fine. (The Dr. said she was 99% sure it wasn't cancer.) However, I just can't stop worrying. Any thoughts?

Once you'ave had a dx of bc, anything out of the ordinary is concerning. I wouldn't want to wait 3 months. Maybe you can go back in a couple of weeks for another check?

I too will be dreading the mammogram. But if I were you I will call and ask to speak to the radiologist on Monday, tell him what you had forgotton to mention and see what he thinks. Good luck to you.

Thanks hrf and Diamond Girl for getting reponding so quickly. They didn't suggest another mammogram in 3 months, just an ultra sound of the area where the seroma is. I think the reason she recommended returning in three months is that she wants to make sure it has time to heal. But, I think I will call and ask if I can possibly come back sooner. I appreciate anybodys thoughts about this.

Can you ask for a Breast MRI? They made me have one even though they suspected a small seroma, and thank God it was, but if they would do it, at least it would alleviate the wait and the anxiety.

I had a mammogram once that burst a cyst we all knew I had. I SAID it was hurting when she kept compressing and she told me not to be a baby. For years after that I got to get ultrasounds only, but they would only check previous areas of concern! I pointed to 6 o'clock on my left breast (I have that moment frozen in my mind for some reason and can still hear my voice say:) "it hurts right here". " We don't ultrasound for pain." She snapped and didn't. Too bad, that's where my cancer popped up!
