Bug bite by incision line or skin mets?

Options

Hello everyone.  I come here often enough and read but now I am here to ask a question.

One inch from incision line, I have a very small area that itched, my scratching it led to a minute-size paque-like area inside.  There was a bit of drainage, tiny, of white liquid and a bit of blood.

I have no insurance and am a paycheck away from the street.  Working 2 fulltime jobs, though.  So, I know I need to go to the doctor but I have just read skin mets mean there is probable mets other places and typically patient has 3 months to live ::gulp::  OMG.  I wonder if anyone has had itchy skin met that had an ulcerated rather hard center.  If I could find a needle, I'd remove it myself.  I can't die now, I just saved my house from foreclosure...and my pets...this is when family is important and so I realize how vulnerable I am being single and alone.

Gosh, I guess work isn't so important now.

Hi, Wendy ~ I'm so sorry you're going through this scare and concern. I don't have any personal experience with something similar, but when I read your  post I wondered if this program could help you get a cost-free doctor appointment to have it checked.

    http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/nbccedp/

Other California women on BCO have mentioned it, and I have an uninsured friend who is currently going through treatment using it.

The economy (especially in CA) is tough right now, and I don't think anyone is immune to it.  Hopefully, that program can set you up with additional followup care to ease your mind in at least this area.

Take care, and if that doesn't help, let me know and I'll see what other resources I can find for you.  No one should be without followup after bc tx.     Deanna

Deanna, I have gone to my county social services and have an appointment for a biopsy on 12/7.  Since I own a home, they are going to put a lien against it until I repay them.  In the meantime, I am going to see what Obamacare is all about.

I am hoping this is a flea bite as I slept with the dog the night before.  I had mamosite radiation therapy and now realize that the biopsy tract may not have been irradiated.  I will follow up.

Take care and Have a lovely holiday.  thank you for your response.

Wendy, I may be very naive, but I've never heard of a social services office putting a lien on a home!  I'll PM you tomorrow to see if I can help you any more.  Surely there must be a program that doesn't "loan" you medical services against your house.  That seems outrageous to me!   Deanna

PS ~ A flea bite sounds pretty logical given your exposure to your dog.  And when I asked my BS @UCLA about the biopsy track getting seeded with cancer cells, she said she's never seen  anything during surgeries to make her believe that happens.
