That's great Sue! I'm sooo glad that you had no problems. Where are you having treatment this time? Will be thinking of you tomorrow, please post and let us know how you are as soon as you can.
Peace, strength, love n hugs. chrissy

I'm going to a different smaller private hospital for the surgery this time - closer to home and free parking!! I'll be having radiation at the same place as earlier this year - here's hoping I don't have to have chemo again - I'm pretty confident I won't - only if it doesn't match the biopsy results which was low grade or if it has spread to my nodes which is unlikely.
I'm much calmer now - thanks for the hugs.
Sue
-
Sue, I can't remember, but did I give you my phone number? If not, I'll pm it to you if you would like.
Take care. Thinking of you.
(((((((hugs))))))) chrissy

yay sue!! everything sounds like it is going well.... keep us posted. Good luck tomorrow...
I go back on Wed to get more films--- listened to the surgeon's comments on tape again--- she really does not think it is anything.... but we will go through the process..hope she is right!
-
Sue,
Sending positive thoughts for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you
-
Hold on to your hats - big shock - I didn't have the surgery today - the stupid idiots couldn't place the hook wires - some crap about my port and the location. We always thought this smaller place might not be able to do it.
I did have the sentinel node biopsy done though and woke up feeling great so I came home. Lumpectomy now scheduled for next Tuesday at the bigger hospital where the expert breast clinic is - the ones who I've been seeing this past month. I'm sure they'll be able to insert the wires successfully. She wanted to go ahead with the SNB so I wouldn't be subjected to more radioactive material next week and I'd already had the radioactive part done yesterday.
I'm ok about it now but boy was I pissed off when they gave up on inserting the wires. The F word was heard quite a few times and there were tears. The goods news is that the SNB went really well. The node lit up beautifully and 8 hours later I have not had one twinge of pain - what a great surgeon - wish I'd had her last year. The only bad thing is I'm still passing blue wee.
Now the waiting begins again but I can just put my feet up and relax.
Sue
-
Awww Sue, sending you cyber hugs! I think if I were you, I would be happy they stopped trying with the wires. It could have gotten painful! I will keep you in my prayers until Tuesday.
-
They never even got around to trying to insert them - they couldn't get a good pic of the clips which is bullshit as the expert place (where I had the clips inserted) showed me a beautiful mammo showing all 3 clips a week or so ago. I bet the experts have no trouble next week - they were quite insistent that I go there for the wires but we went with the smaller hospital as I would have had to wait until 9th Dec to get done at the big one. Now the surgeon is doing me sooner at the big one - yippee!!!
Sue
-
Sue, if it doesn't rain, it pours.....what a bummer!! Sometimes I just wish things would go to plan and I can totally relate to the frustration you feel. So, the waiting game begins a new, at least it's only a week but I'm sure the week will seem like it's going on for-ever. It was good that the SNB was done and you are not having any pain from it. Your blue pee should stop in a day or two particularly if you are drinking heaps of water. Keeping you n my thoughts and prayers.
Peace, strength, love n hugs. Chrissy
-
SNB result = all clear!!! Now just got to get through the surgery next Tuesday!!!
-
YaY for the clear SN!!! And I hope your lumpectomy is as pain-free as the SNB!
Sue, a few days back, you'd posted something about stocking up on wine. But am I right in thinking wine is a no-no for us ILC girls? I don't want to go off topic here, but I kind of recall some very recent research that concluded that wine was absolutely not a risk -- if you had IDC. But if you have ILC, this latest research showed an increased recurrance risk. Just thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't seen it. And I would love nothing more than to find out that it isn't right, because I sure miss it! :) Deanna
-
Yes Deanna - I did stock up on wine - stuff it. We have few pleasures in life. We don't drink much, just 1 glass if I cook something special - a couple of times a week. Actually I must ask my onc about it. I had read it and forgot to get his opinion.
-
Yay Sue, great news on the SN!!!! Here's hoping the rest is as good.Love n hugs. chrissy
-
Thanks Chrissie - hope you're doing well.
-
In general, pretty good but today was a bummer. Woke up with the pre migraine feeling and my shoulder giving me hell so I have just had one of those days where nothing was done and I just rested. Tomorrow will be better I'm sure as I'm taking my four yr old niece to the movies to see Dorothy the Dinosaur Meets Santa Claus. Should be fun. This is a pic of her and her baby sister.

Hi Sue!
I just saw this thread. SO sorry you're having to go through all this again. Glad to hear the SNB was clear, and I sure hope you get to avoid chemo, as you think you will.
My last herceptin is 7 Dec, right before yours.
Best of luck with your upcoming surgery!
Sue
-
Chrissy - gorgeous babies!!! Take it easy.
lovestosail - Good to hear from you. My last H is on 8th December. Hoping to get the port out before Xmas.
Sue
-
Suepen....congrats on a clear SNB...good luck on Tuesday.....
Chrissy...the kids are adorable
-
Thanks Girls!!!!
(((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))

Surgery all done and I'm home. I feel much better than I did last year - she must be a way better surgeon. The experts got the wires in no problem as expected - makes the mob last week look incompetent. Now just hoping she got clear margins and a good path report - like low grade confirmation would be good. Cross your fingers the 2 extra tiny spots are not cancer!!!
Sue
-
Sue...glad to hear that things went well today...wishes for only good news
-
Thanks Karen!!!!
-
Everything crossed for you Sue hope the results are all good. Sending big (((((hugs))))).
-
Thanks Chrissie!!!!
-
Ok - the path report is in. Only 1 cancer. The other 2 spots were Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia - not cancer. I will only need to have rads again no more surgery or chemo. It was small - 6.8mm and combined IDC and DCIS Grade 2 ER and PR positive but not HER2 again thank God. I'm so glad it was found and is out of me. I can do the rads again I still have my soft bras and Vit E cream and Crystal stick deo - all set to go just have to buy some more aloe vera gel.
Thankyou everyone for all of your encouraging messages - I really appreciate it.
Sue
-
Way to go Sue! that is really good news! I bet you a giving a huge sigh as are we all and yes, rads are very do-able. Big (((hugs))) and doing a happy dance for you.
Peace and strength. chrissy
-
Thanks Chrissy - we're still smiling. I feel very happy - it's all gone now. It's a weird feeling being happy about having a cancer cut out but hey it's so good it's not 3 of them.
Sue
-
I can't believe you are having to restart this whole process again. Thank God it was not HER2+ again, not just for the implications of the herceptin not working, but also for not having to go through chemo again! Congrats on a good path report! (Gee, did I really say that? I guess with cancer you have to be thankful for the small things!)
-
Thanks Weety - this thing was definitely there last year such a bummer they missed it. It's good to know my treatment hasn't failed me yet!!!! That's why I didn't want to go crazy and have a bilateral. I want to give the herceptin/hormone drugs etc a chance to prove themselves.
