Crazy Dreams on Tamoxifen?

Options

I am only in week 5 of tamoxifen.  Week 2, I started with unbearable pains in my arms/wrists, which seems to have subsided quite a bit.  However, starting week 2, I began with crazy dreams, waking up and so I am now exhausted.  My med oncologist wants me to try and stop the tamoxifen, but I am scared to do that.  I had one good night sleep 2 nights ago when I took an Ativan. Has anyone else had these crazy dreams, and what has helped them?  Do they go away as our bodies get used to the tamoxifen, or should I expect this for the next 5 years?  Thanks for any insight!

I used to have crazy dreams, hot flashes, aches and pain, but I think my body has adjusted to the Tamoxifen.  I hope yours will too.  I just passed my 2 year mark and think I will be able to make it to 5 years.  Best of luck to you.

Hope you don't mind my asking, but how long do you think it took before you got adjusted?  Did you ever stop the tamoxifen, or just did your best?

I would say a good year, maybe a little longer.  But, what side effects I had at the beginning, dimished.  I would all of a sudden have bad hotflashes and night sweats.  They diminished. I never stopped taking it, I just kept thinking it was worth it to NOT have a recurrence.
