Mucinous carcinoma

Can anyone tell me anything about mucinous carcinoma that has spread to other parts of the body?

From what I understand it is a very slow growing cancer and easily treatable. My friend had it in her breast. She had chemo, radiation. Before she could have a lumpectomy the cancer had spread to her other breast so she opted for a total masectomy.

They now tell her ( less then 1 months after her surgery ) that the cancer has spread to her mouth and head and other areas of her body.

The cancer in the jaw was picked up first and misdiagnosed as a different cancer all together by 4 pathologists...at the end it turned out it was all mucinous carcinoma.

Guess what I would like to know is if anyone has had this happen with this type of breast cancer before? When she was first diagnosed her oncologist told her that if a woman got breast cancer this would be the very best kind to get because it was so curable and slow moving.

She is my best friend and I love her very much and am desperately trying to find something that may help her....Thank you
