This is what the ACTUAL biopsy report says!
It says:
Rash on right breast, itchy and tender.
SCO a punch biopsy measuring 0.2x0.2cm in great dimension EIT.
Microscopic: Centrally the epidermis demonstrates one nest of melanocytes at the dermo-epidermal junction compatible with junctional nevus. The subepidermal tissues demonstrate a superficial and deep perivascular and nterstitial lymphocytic infiltrate mixed with some eosinophils.
Diagnosis: Junctional nevus with superficial and deep perivascular mixed dermatitis.
So what does this mean?!

Well, Dr. Google, by way of Wikipedia says:
A junctional nevus is a mole found in the junction (border) between the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. These moles may be pigmented and slightly raised, and have a higher risk of developing into malignant melanoma.
So it's just as well you are getting it checked out. Let us know what the doc says!
-
But there was no mole?! I am so confused?!
-
Oh and the Dr said he didn't need to see me, so I demanded a copy of the report and it was waiting for me at the fronk desk.
The ultra sound report said:
Focal area of redness or rash along the 5:00 radian of the right breast.
Findings: Ultrasound targeted to the lower aspect of the right breast revealed normal appearing breast tissue with no underlying solid or cystic masses nor areas of echo distortion.
Impression: There are no sonographic findings to indicate malignancy. Clinical correlation and follow up is suggested.
Birads 1: Negative.
-
Could the mole be under your skin and causing irritation?
-
No b/c the place where the red rash was, got a bit better and then came back, but bigger and more patchy. It's not one circle of rash, it was a few patches that were close to each other.
-
Huh, have you seen a dermatologist?
-
No - my Dr wont send me to one, he didn't even think I needed a follow up!

LiveStrongMom, when you first posted in the Canadian forum back in September, I suggested that before anything else, you see a dermatologist. There's no question that you needed to find out what was causing this rash, but from your description of the rash and your other symptoms (or lack of other symptoms) the likelihood that it was a skin condition was much greater than the likelihood that it was IBC. So it simply made sense to investigate this as a skin condition first before going down the IBC path.
When you posted again some time later, in the 'Not Diagnosed" forum (I think), I repeated that advice. I also suggested the same thing when you sent me a PM. I even found out that there appears to be weekly dermatology clinic at your local hospital (it's on the hospital's website although of course I can't confirm if they actually run the clinic every week).
Rather than find a way to get in to see a dermalogist, you continued to see your doctor and various other doctors in Emergency - I believe in one post you mentioned that you've been seen 10 times about this. Rather than find out if this was a skin condition (which continued to be the probable explanation as you described our ongoing symptoms), you continued to pursue IBC, getting an ultrasound and a punch biopsy. When someone else posted about concerns about the cost to you of all your doctor's visits, you pointed out that you are in Canada and therefore there is no cost. But of course that's not true. To be perfectly honest, as a Canadian taxpayer whose taxes fund healthcare, I think that this has been a blatant abuse of the system.
Now you've had a BIRADs 1 ultrasound (which is the best possible result - I don't think I've had a BIRADs 1 in my life; mine are always BIRADs 2) and a biopsy that indicates dermatitis. The detailed description from your biopsy talks about a skin condition. This is a breast cancer website so I doubt that there is anyone here who is going to know much about this. Rather than have us do your research for you, my suggestion is that you find a way to get yourself to a dermatologist so that you can get your answers there.
My apologies for being so blunt. But sometimes someone just needs a kick in the pants in order to get moving in the right direction. Honestly in this case I think it's time for that now.

I appreciate that, but rather than assume I havent tried to see the Dermatologist you indicated you could have asked. And no, that hospital I believe was in Newbury, and I dont live there.
I have been seen several times by the same Dr yes, but not by 10 Drs so please dont think that. I went to emerg twice only and that was b/c it would have been a month to get into see my regular Dr. Also I went to the second emerg b/c the first emerg Dr told me to b/c they wouldn't do anything for me there and would send me to London anyway.
I am trying to be proactive here - and indeed this is a breast cancer board and I am worried. My family has a history of breast cancer, and I have had thyroid cancer myself.
So instead of wasting more $'s on health care as you say - I am also coming on here to ask about my results b/c again, it's too long of a wait to see my family Dr. to talk about the results.
Also - juntional nevus was like huh?! I don't have a mole.....so anyway, I apologize for your being upset, but basically what I am trying to do is cover all my basis. I am not trying to get anyone to do my "homework" for me. I just didn't understand the report that well. Sorry.
