Help with diet, any foods to fight cancer.
I am looking for help with diet and how to get my blood to an alkaline state, from what I understand cancer cannot live in this environment. Are there any good cancer diet books I should look into? I am stage 4, being treated with Tamoxofin, zoladex and zometa. I am having success with this treatment but I need to do something for my self.

Have you read any of Dr. Robert Young's books? He's written the "pH Miracle" books. He also wrote "Sick and Tired". This was the book that opened my eyes. It explains in painstaking detail why we need to be alkaline and how we got here (cancer) in the first place. There's a lot of "science" in the book, he a microbiologist, so at times I had to really focus to grasp some of it. But I HIGHLY recommend it. Doug Kauffman has a cable TV show and has written several books. You can visit his website at "Knowthecause.com" You can find his books there and watch his shows there as well or you can type your state in the box at the top and find your local listings.
Dr. Young's theory as to why we are sick is that our bodies are too acid, due to our diet and lifestyle. He says that an overly acidic internal environment causes yeast and fungus (which exists in everyone, even in a healthy state) to grow and morph out of control. He recommends a vegetarian, 70%-80% raw approach to diet, no dairy, no sugars, no grains.
Doug Kauffman was a Navy hospital corpsman in Vietnam who went on to study allergies and opened a laboratory focused on food and fungal research. I have his book "The Germ That Causes Cancer". It has been condensed to more of a handbook. The original (which is now very expensive) is more in depth and list tons of scientific studies on his subject. I would love to get a copy but haven't as of yet. Although both men talk about yeast and fungus overgrowth, they each have a different approach to diet. Kauffman includes meat but believes it should be grass fed, free range, etc. He advocates lots of vegetables (organic), no sugar, no grains and no foods that are known to contain mycotoxins (a metabolite produced by a fungus that is poison) such as corn and peanuts.
There are many, many more out there but these are two that I refer back to again and again.
Good luck with your journey.

Sue,
Anti-Cancer by Dr. Servan-Schrieber is an excellent book about how to fight your cancer using food as medicine.
Hugs and Best wishes,
Sandie

Yes, alkaline pH is much better for beating cancer. One of my all-time favorite books is "The Encyclopedia of Healing Foods" by Michael Murray and Joseph Pizzorno. Very user-friendly. I also post lots of nutritional info for breast cancer survivors on my website, Pink Kitchen. Send me a message if you have any questions at all
