    paintedlady ---- I know what you mean -- don't build him up to be more in your mind or you could easily be disappointed -- just relax and be yourself and give him a chance to be himself -- he is probably as nervous and anxious as you are.

    Joanne   Thanks you are right.  I guess I am also excited that I finally reacted to someone.

    I really thoight there was something wrong with me because I just didn't react to anyone much

    before I talked to him. At least I think that I haven't lost attraction for the opposote sex lol

    I agree - no expectations just think about meeting someone who is a potential friend so just go into it meeting someone who is interesting. You can usually find at least something good or interesting about a person so just enjoy meeting someone new. Hopefully he will be attractive and funny and wonderful and you will have a blast!

    Hi all

    I've been off for a couple of weeks but it sounds like the internet dating circle goes round and round and round......So - during the 2 weeks I've been gone, returned to ONE POF message that went something like this:

    Him: I like your profile.  Would you like to meet?

    Me:  Sure, let's think of a place, perhaps your dog would like to meet my dogs.(his profile says he'd like to meet in a park to wtch his dog chase balls)

    Him:  What kind of dogs do you have?

    Me:  A cairn terrier and a pug.  And a bad cat.

    Him:   NO RESPONSE!!!!

    Guess I have the wrong breed of dogs!!   Ho hum, on it goes.

    rakulynda- Well isn't that odd. Surely not. Terriers seem to get along with all dogs don't they? I don't know a thing about pugs.

    Speaking of terriers - is it true they love to dig? If so my puppy Sheltie is driving me nuts digging up all my plants and grass any advice? 

    Going back, could it be he just hasn't had a chance to read your response yet? Well if that is his response then I'd say your dodged a bullet- if he would make a decision based on the type of dog you have then I'd say keep looking! You must have a great profile!

    Hi Ladies

    Well, he just left a little wile ago. He was suppose to get here at 2pm but he was at the restaurant at 11 am.

    He is very nice and very physically attreactive. Now comes the but lol

    He has a heart problem (Artial Fibrillation) and is on medicine for that.  He claims that he doesn't have much money (he never clarified what "not much" money).  Didn't want to press issue because I didn't want him to think that I was after money.

    He is planning to drive up here again next weekend

    I have to go to bed and get some sleep

    I don't believe that is a serious condition is it Painted Lady? He lives in Naples? That's a pretty wealthy town. Maybe he's really a millionaire who wants to make sure you want him for him, not all his money!!!

    I read your post and I don't see any "but" that would make me think twice about that guy. But.... lol... it's whatever you feel comfortable with, but hopefully next weekend will be a fun time too! :)

    Tonight I met the infamous guy :) He was super nice, sincere, sweet, good listener and on and on, not bad looking. Your typical all american boy, grew up in Alaska. He has 3 boys 11,12 and 14. His ex wife just up and left him one day, with the boys. She hopped on a plane to Australia for some guy she met on facebook! He seems like a really good guy, a hard worker, and a great Dad. We got to the restaurant about 6:20 and I just got home abot 30 minutes ago (5 hours later)! We'll see if there's a 2nd date, took us forever to finally meet so hard telling. Either way, great conversation, a couple of beers and lots of laughts it was worth it!

    Hi Ladies

    Dragon I came on here early hoping you would tell us about your date: I am so happy for you that you had a good time.  Usually,men don't spend that many hours with a woman if they aren't attracted to her.

     Hrf  Basically I don't have any money  and told him so lol.

    This sounds silly but I really liked this: He sang me a Hebrew prayer then he sang it in English for me. (I know it is goofy, but I like the sound of the language).

    Oh, another important issue is he isn't sex crazed.  Probably the medcine he takes or whatever decreased his libido ( He just turned 64 a couple of days ago).  That to me is important because of my low sex drive.

    Dragonfly - sounds like a potential good-guy, huh?  Paintedlady - if he's on statin drugs for a heart issue, he's probably not able to "get it up".  Ugh, that sounds so tacky!  Stanzie - terriers are called "ground dogs", in that they go underground to chase out the bad critters but mine has never been a digger.  He's an alpha male and gets a bit touchy around submissive felmales.  The pug was bred for no other purpose than to be a companion dog and what lover's they are.  She sticks to me like velcro.  Still no response from the dog guy - maybe I should write back that I was just kidding, that I really have a german shepard and a rottie.  ha ha

    DF and PL ~ Sounds like a good weekend!  Nice to hear!

    Df - he sounds great.  Try to find out over time, why his wife up and left him like that.  She was either running to or out of something.............

    PL - I agree that he's probably just seeing if you are looking to be supported or after his money.  In a way you can't blame these guys for that..........

    Rak - I have had so many weird emails like that too.  Who knows why! I think sometimes when it comes down to an actual meet, they just chickenout!

    He told me all about the ex, sound like she is a little mentally unstable. He said after the fact of course all these skeletons started coming out of the closet about her, her past, family etc... He got complete custody of the boys. She has little to no contact with them at all. She met some 50+ year old guy from Australia on Facebook and he fled the country to him!

    I think sometimes guys are emailing with a few women at a time. If they meet one and are somewhat interested, they may stop emailing the others so it probably doesn't have anything to do with the type of dog (LOL) or anything else. That's been my experience anyway.

    Congrats ladies!  So happy you've had good dates...it's encouraging.  I got a new puppy yesterday.  My Sadie died in October.  Unnamed is a black and white ShihTzu and she's adorable.  No name yet.  Any ideas?

    Rak  Whatever the drug is, I am relieved he is not highly sexed lol

    Dragon  I think that is a good sign that he told you all that about himself. He is probably very interested in you.

    Twoputter and Kiley  It is so nice to hear you have cute little puppies.  The Shih Tzu is one of my favorite breeds. They are just sooooo cute.

     Twoputter   He sang a couple of Hebrew songs to me. It was very nice.  We also talked about

    some Jewish customs. It was a good conversation.  I just thought of a dog name "Molly"

     He called me earlier just to chat and say that he is looking forward to seeing me next Saturday.

    I am so grateful for all you ladies. It feels so good to discuss our situations with each other and get feedback

    Just wanted to let you know that my cardiologist told me Atrial Fibrillation is very common in people over 60 and not life-threatening as long as you take a blood thinner to prevent strokes. I have it, off and on, some people have it all the time. If you like him otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

    PS I have only had three dates in the last 30 years. How is that for weird?  After my first cancer I just didn't want to risk getting hurt.  The last date I had was someone I met on srpeoplemeet.com. He never called me back after meeting my 3 very energetic dogs LOL

    Thanks ladies, it was a lot of fun, time flew by I couldn't believe we were there for so long! I would totally love to see him again even if it is just as friends. He was a lot of fun and seemed so genuine, we ended up ordering the same thing even for dinner! :) We'll see if I hear from him again or whatever.

    Sounds like everyone is doing good, dating or not dating. I'm totally happy either way! I hope you ladies had a great weekend, back to the grind for me tomorrow!

    I like the name Mollie for a dog (it's my mother's nickname) and Grace. If she's black & white she could be Domino, Oreo (so typical), Ebony & Ivory....... I'm on a role here. Then there's Mia, Lilly or you could find a beautiful Asian name.
