Glad to hear you are now more confident and comfortable with your treatment decision.  Isn't that a place where we all should strive to be?

Good luck and wishing you well.

mje123, I'm so glad you got the answers you have been looking for. I hope you will be at peace as you move along on this journey. As you do  move along in this journey, there are many support threads for chemo, radiation, and hormone treatments. I hope you will find the ladies as helpful for you as they have been for me. I'm really only a couple of months ahead of you.

Thanks to all that have given me input/advice over the past couple of months as I am closer to making a treatment decision.  All of the experiences and advice that everyone has given has been invaluable.  Without it I do not feel that I would have been exposed to those experts on the west coast that I recently had the opportunity to see last week.  For me traveling cross country to get more definitive information and input was invaluable in making a treatment decision.   It has provided comfort and confidence as I move along with the next step in the journey.

mje123, Just a quick question. Have you had radiation yet?

kira 1234, no radiation needed.  I decided to have a bilateral mastectomy to decrease the local recurrence risk to near zero

Glad to hear it. I wouldn't wish what I'm dealing with having chemo after Mammasite radiation on my worst enemy.

    kira1234,

Just curious why you are doing chemo with grade 1 lesion and those stats

My first Onc. felt I should with a gray area oncotype test. My new Onc. said he would never have suggested chemo. Just for the record I only had 1 treatment. I have been told no way for more by the new Onc. as well as by the BS. If I don't heal in the next 2 weeks I will be having something else done, but don't know what. My BS comment when I asked was you don't want to know.

    kira1234,

It looks like right now that I am going to be doing TC x 4 possibly starting in 7-10 days.  Will join over on the ILC board.

mje123, I think you've made a good choice. You're young with young children you'll want to be there for. Looking forward to seeing you on the ILC board. Make sure you join the chemo group for the month you will be starting. They will be a great help for you as you go through the treatments.
