Daughters of Mothers diagnosed with BC

Hi, I dont know exactly how to start this, but Im 19 years old and my mother has been diagnosed with bc cancer stage 3b. I cant talk to my friends because no one understands the pain im going through. i dont want to talk to my mom about it because i know even though shes acting strong shes as scared as i am. i love my mother with all my heart, she is everything to me. i want her to be there when i get married and i want her to be with her grandchildern. But now i feel like there is a hole in my heart cause i never knew one day i would have to wonder whether my mama will be at my wedding or in the hospital when i give birth. im so scared worried depressed and i dont know what else or how else to describe it. I feel so alone.

Of course you are worried.  You love your mother dearly and want her to be healthy.  Most people feel that the thing they appreciated most is to listen to her without judgement.  If she knows you want to listen, eventually she may want to open up to you.

Some women here have said that they think their breast cancer may be harder on their family than on themselves.  

You may find more daughters of mothers with bc will see your post if you post on the forum 'For Family and Friends of those who have breast cancer'.   But, of course, you are free to post where you wish.

I know very well how you feel.  I think I was about 23 when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I felt all of the same thoughts you are feeling back then.  It's really hard to see someone you love and rely on so much suffer.  Fortunately though, she has a daughter who loves her very much and that will mean the world to her while she is going through this.  Let her know you love her and will be there for her and as Leaf said, listen to her.

All that being said, what I can tell you is that my mother passed 11 years ago from other health issues and not from breast cancer.  She lived to see and care for her grandchildren.

Inshallha ...I just got the news about my mym that she has been diagnosed with bc i dont know the stage...yet...my mom is 90% of my life...i am 29 weeks preganant and i am muslim like you...I totally understand your pain. Inshallha your mother will be healthy as well as my mom with the bless of God. Pray for you tell me where are you located and what is your background.
