Nipple Discharge after Lumpectomy & Radiation

Options

Has anyone experienced discharge from a breast nipple after finishing radiation?  I had a lumpectomy on Nov 4 of last yr, did chemo, and then had 33 radiation treatments, finishing on June 10.  Now my breast is leaking a clear yellowish fluid.  When my surgeon examined me last  summer, he said the breast felt like it contained a lot of fluid.  My lumpectomy scar has been hard and the size of a walnut.  This past weekend, this fluid leaked out on my pajama top, the bedsheet, then later went through my bra and on to the front of my t-shirt.  I see my medical oncologist next week so I hope I get some answers.

Hello, this could be me...re-writing your exact paragraph. During the week of April 10, 2011, I was in my last week of radiation (boost treatments) when the breast started to leak a fluid, became hardened and very painful. After examinations by all 3 of my physicians (oncology radiologist, surgeon and oncologist) it was determined to be enflamed breast / cellulitis. I was on 2 Rx's of Keflex antibiotic to help with the mild fever, inflamation due to the cellulitis. It's now been almost 8 weeks since the end of my radiation, and the breast seems to be healing from everything it's been through. Not that it's 100% or ever will be, but it's taken several weeks to make some good healing progress. JanetBergeron
