Followup adh question please

After a few years of having calcifications on mammo last September mammo showed microcalcifications on left breast and after biopsy I was diagnosed with pappilomas and ADH . Had surgery done in December with 2/3 of left breast tissue removed and severe adh and atypical lobular hyperplasia.  At three month followup with Mri only I needed another mri guided biopsy on left and right breast.  Everything came back okay.  Just had my six month followup mammo two days ago and was shaking opening the envelope but with much relief it was normal.  Thursday I will have the mri with contrast.  I know that Mri pick up so many benign finding that end up requiring a biopsy.  I'm thinking that the atypical cells took years to form after finding the calcifications everything will be clear.  Has anyone else had adh surgery and had adh form again requiring surgery within a year?  I just can't wait for the mri and get this wait over with.  Thank you again ladies.

A year and a half ago I had calcifications - benign.  This past January they were clustering, had a golf ball size tissue removed - it was ALH.  Oncologist said it was precancerous and wanted me on Tamoxifen for five years.  And I would have to have MRIs every year, which show more, which would mean more biopsies.  I have been dealing with this for many years, with my family history etc. my risk of getting breast cancer is 40%.  I decided to have masectomies - May 6th, just had my exchange surgery ten days ago.  No tamoxifen, no more mammograms, no worries now.  ALH and ADH doesn't mean you will get cancer - just puts you at a higher risk.  Here's hoping everything works out ok for you.  I was just tired of the worry from all the biopsies.  Hang in there and let me know your results.  Hugs, Valerie
