worried about bone mets

as usual any medical problem I have I immediately think cancer again so here I go..been dealing with what my internist called hip bursitus for 3 months, seeing my chiropracter which has given me some relief, but at his suggestion had the hip xrayed. the call today with results are that I have bone spurs and bony cysts in that hip and apt with ortho doc ... so can this be mets to the hip? any thoughts appreciated, I am such a baby

Bone spurs and cysts are typical of osteoarthritis.  Keep the appointment with the ortho doctor and good luck!

the osteo doc gave 3 cortisone shots for the pain in my hip after only lettiing me give him a short explaosteonation of why I was there. then he told me to make an apt for 3 weeks and cancel if I was feeling better. he then asked if I had any questions to which I asked about my internist seeing bone spurs and boney cysts on the xray, he answered "she did? I will be right back " he obviously didn't even look at the xrays! he then told me the spurs were the beginning of  osteo arthritis and I don't know what those spots are, I don't think they are bone cancer, you win a trip back in 2 weeks then

If it were me I would ask my onco for a bone scan.  If the scan doesn't show any evidence of mets then you can seek orthopedic treatment again.  And, yes, I would find another ortho doc.  You need someone who listens to your medical history and reviews your data closely before recommending treatment.  I realize they're not cancer doctors, but when they have a patient with a history of cancer they need to be paying attention to what's going on. 

So let's rule out the cancer first, then go the orthopedic route if necessary!  Be strong in the meantime
