Throat pain

I will have BMX tomorrow. But I started to have a throat pain since last Monday. had to clear throat a lot sometimes during the day. No cough, temperature is normal. Felt better when woke up. Finally went to a dr at urgent care and got Amoxiilion last Wed. The dr said it was not bacteria but he still gave me the medicine saying it will make me feel better. Do not have to clear the throat that much but still felt uncomfortable in the throat area. felt swelling a little etc. just done whole body scan last week and told the result is clear. Hope not something serious. Could this be allergy? If someone experienced something similar could pop in, I would really appreciate. Best wishes to all. Meg

Hi, I'm not sure what the weather is like there, but here in Georgia we're in prime allergy season. Do you have a history of allergies? I work in a pharmacy and we've had alot of patients with seasonal issues such as post nasal drip that is making their throats sore. Having to clear your throat alot sounds like post nasal drip caused by allergies. Ask your Dr if you can take an allergy med like Zyrtec, but don't take it until the Dr ok's it.
