Dizziness and/or Vertigo
I'm almost a 15 year survivor, and no longer worry about each pain or change I notice. However, about 6 weeks ago I began having dizziness and experiencing vertigo. I'm fine, it's just the walls and floor won't hold still. This is really new for me and does have me concerned at this point because it isn't getting better. I've recently had a dental check-up (including my 5 year full mouth xrays I was due for.) I recently had my eyes examined. No problems there either. My primary care doc checked my ears, throat, etc. No signs of anything that would be causing this. So to rule out anything serious, he ordered an MRI of my brain. I had it done a few days ago and will see my doc again on Oct 20th for results. I am worried.( Probably mostly because my sister had a recurrence after 16 years). I've heard of headaches and seizures, which I thankfully do not have. But has anyone with brain metastases experienced dizziness and vertigo?

Hello! I saw your post and wanted to tell you my moms experience with vertigo. First off she does not have brain mets. She is also stage 2. After she had her port removed she started having vertigo. All the doctors said it was not related but it was the only thing we know of that had changed. Her Onc told her to see an ENT and it tuned out it was just postional vertigo but it was caused from the port removal. They made her lay down and turn and hold her head to the right while they tugged on her to get it out and it knocked the crystals in her inner ear loose. I'm wondering if maybe the dental work you just had did the same to you. Her doctor had her do the Epleys Manuver and it corrected it's self in about 1-2 weeks! You can find good info on how to do the manuver on u-tube. I hope this helps and I'll be praying for you!
Love, Jen

Hello csbees,
Did you get the resuts yet of your MRI? I too am having vertigo. It's almost like being car sick. I get nausea with it too. Today I had to take a dramamine and it seemed to help. After i slept 2 hours! I will be curious to see what is causing your problems. I have a routine checkup with my onc in a week and will bring it up then and see what he says.
Take care,
Donalee
